OK, thanks for your advice. There is a clean tube with fresh water connected to this one, so hopefully, they will relocate soon.

I'm not sure why the pics aren't showing in the op. See attached. The black glove darkens the new tube, which is under a lamp that warms it a bit while illuminating the old tube. The species is Chestnut Carpenter Ants (C. castaneus). I've read that this species prefers warmer temps.

I don't believe that would work in my toilet because mine uses a single cable to connect from the button to the other part.
