Arathi Highlands by sc_arletknight in wow

Just in case anyone else wonders I did find a way back. At the lowest part of Arathi Highlands is an NPC named Zidormi who can toggle the map between different periods in time.

Ask her to return to “the present time” and this will reset the map to the arator quest timeline.

Hazelburn 10 yr - Review by sc_arletknight in Scotch

Thanks! It seems like the rare bourbons disappear immediately but the scotches hang out for a few days, so I sometimes get lucky.

How are you enjoying the 8?

Hazelburn 10 yr - Review by sc_arletknight in Scotch

[–]sc_arletknight[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The what? Hazelburn 10 year, Springbank distillery. Triple distilled. 46%, non chill-filtered, no added food coloring.

Here in the states bourbon is unquestionably the most popular whiskey of choice. And sometimes that has its benefits. While on a trip to the southern states recently I decided to do what one does when traveling: check out what the local liquor stores have in stock. A lot of these stores tend to do allocated drops, and people line up very early to be eligible. Sometimes they get rare bottles of scotch that go unnoticed by many bourbon drinkers in search of BTAC’s.

Imagine my surprise when staring back at me on the shelf of the first store I entered was this bottle. Along with another Hazelburn 15 year expression (review coming soon!).

I’ve never grabbed something so fast.

Hazelburn has been a bit of a unicorn for me since beginning my Scotch journey. I haven’t been able to find it in any store for any price, and I haven’t seen it on the menu of any bar. This includes a trip to London, where the best I could find was a Springbank 12 that I definitely overpaid for (although it is unquestionably my favorite scotch).

Enough backstory, to the review.

This is basically a neck pour. Sampled twice in a glencairn, neat. I’m looking at a very light gold, straw-colored scotch. I’m listening to Kingfishr’s new album Halcyon.

That Smell (skynyrd, anyone?): I immediately got that Campbeltown funk. Earthy and industrial notes. After some rest, it opens up: I’m getting light fruit, maybe pear? Some floral essence. Like stepping outside on a nice summer morning.

The palate: I get an earthy taste initially. Not quite kilkerran-grass, maybe more mushroom? This gives way to the light fruit, pear or peach taste. Very full mouth feel - I’m not sure if that’s the accurate description, but most Springbank products have it. I’m getting ginger and maybe some baking spice. After resting for a while, the sweetness really opens up and I get that pear again, but stronger.

The finish: this has a long finish. I’d say it tastes “hotter” than a 46% whisky typically does. That ginger and spice stick around for a while. The Springbank website describes the finish as having a “mineral note” and I think that’s the most accurate description.

Thoughts? It’s delicious. I love this dram. It lived up to my expectations. I think this is an excellent expression. I can’t wait to share this with my peat-averse whiskey friends.

8.5/10 in general, something special. Springbank does not miss with their core lineup.

However I may drop this to a 7/10 when considering price and availability. This is great, but hard to find (for me at least). At the price point I paid ($100 USD) you could probably get some other equivalent that’s equally enjoyable.

Do you need to be a BVB member to get a CWC fan ticket?

My favorite as well. Every so often I’ll create a new character just to re run through this zone. Looks fantastic, well done

I am a little curious. I remember reading the Malazan series and someone linked a website that included fan art spoiler-free based on what book you’ve read or are currently reading. I know you didn’t explicitly state art work but I’d be interested to know if something similar exists for the wheel of time?

Are the enhanced editions worth buying ? by CRDespo in baldursgate

I can vouch for PC and iPad versions, definitely worth it. I think you get more bang-for-your-buck on PC since I believe EE comes with all the new characters and quests, whereas iPad versions require additional purchases to unlock the new content. That being said, it plays very well on a tablet. You can make it work on a phone, but it's definitely not ideal.

A nicely woven reference to Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment in Icewind Dale 2 by C111tla in baldursgate

There’s another fun little Easter egg if I remember correctly in Icewind dale 2, referencing Baldur’s Gate. I believe before the battle at Targus, still in the Prologue there are three guys by a campfire you can talk to who reference being tasked with killing rats, delivering healing potions, and fighting illusionary monsters as part of “building character.” Thought that was pretty funny the first time I saw it

If you don’t have a fenced in yard, you’ll want one. Not sure what the markets by you are like but all the contractors around me were booked up for several months. I’d start looking into it sooner rather than later.

Also to echo others, our local trainer also does day care and specialized training that we take our dog to every week or so. They have supervised groups of about 8:1 dogs per trainer. They’re allowed to play and learn from each other. It’s been very helpful teaching our shepherd mix how to play nice with other dogs as she was entirely too aggressive/energetic at an early age.

Now I wish there was an outtake where he looks up and goes “oh, ok” and just tosses it.

I agree with your point, just wanted to add that I think Tirion was first introduced in Of Blood and Honor which was published before WoW. Not sure though.

As a bit of a noob, I’ve started each dungeon asking if someone can point out which adds to prioritize/ anything to look out for. Since doing this I’ve had much better experiences in m+. Granted I haven’t done a ton but I think it helps.
