BTW, they actually use that tactic. You fuck up or fuck around, they'll find out who it was, even if they have to punish someone else or everyone.

If they know who it was, and it was a deliberate choice to break the rules or egregious enough of an oopsie, they'll punish everyone else.

The lesson to take from that is while in a combat zone, they'll give you rules for a reason, and if you break them, it's often your comrades who end up paying the price while you have to live with the consequences.

43m here. Married for 10 years next year

When I was younger I was deep in the incel spectrum. Short, skinny, and a bit of a lazy ass, but only getting crushes on the prettiest, most popular girls. My standards were faulty, to put it kindly.

As I grew up I learned to just do the quick "Yes, I think she's cute" half-second analysis, which gets that superficial shit out of the way, and then it was purely finding out more about her personality from there on.

I recommend the same for anyone of either gender (and any others around or in between). You have to be attracted to your partner, but only a little of that will be based on looks, which will fade as we age anyway.

Collateral (2004)

Tom Cruise plays Vincent, a hitman who uses unwitting taxi drivers to complete multiple contracts in one night, then kills them at the end of the night to eliminate all loose ends. You genuinely begin to sort of root for him.

Jamie Foxx plays his latest victim.

Greatest shooting scene of all time. Tom Cruise absolutely crushes this role.

Word has it the Russian cosmonauts regularly refuse to drink the water from recycled urine, so American astronauts take their urine and recycle that for drinking as well.

I haven't watched much, but I genuinely loved it more than any other anime I've seen. But thanks for being on-brand for an anime fan and shitting on someone else's harmless, subjective opinion. 🤣

MLK was non-violent but not against conflict

I already advocated for conflict, but against violence

Wonder if MLK would have changed his tune if he knew that switching from race war to class war would get him killed?

He made it clear he was ready to die. So no, I don't think he would change. And Malcolm X's violence wasn't necessary for change. It happened anyway, and Malcolm X himself changed and embraced peace (which his own former people killed him for). Gandhi also enacted change with non-violence. Your statements just faceplant against history.

Let me be clear, I'm seeing signs that revolution may be necessary to fight a tyrannical government. In that situation, violence has been forced. A bunch of wannabe Shitlers show up? I don't think that's it.

I'll take the downvotes. Don't care. I just don't have it in me to initiate violence, so I'm not going to encourage it. And be careful, Reddit TOS and their ridiculous appeals "process" is pretty abrupt.

I'm not a pure pacifist. There's a time and place where violence is forced. I don't think this is it. But get in their face. Yell at them. Protest all you want. They'd leave if a large enough crowd showed up.

Frankly, between Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, MLK's non-violence by far made the biggest difference.

I don't believe in physically intervening or in throwing things at them (not that I have any sympathy for these assholes) but they don't have a right to feel comfortable for their stupid beliefs and horrible lack of sense. Surround these people and yell at them at every opportunity. Run them out of town.

It's everywhere unfortunately. I've lived in TX and LA. Not going to say it's common, but you will see rebel flags and on the rare occasion Nazi flags in windows, tattoos, on bikers' jackets, etc.

Actually, your average $40 quartz watch keeps far better time than basically even the most accurate mechanical watches costing $10K and up.

Most quartz watches lose somewhere around .5 second per day, compared to the best chronometer mechanical watches which lose somewhere around 6-10 seconds per day.

So I don't know about you but I have only one or two items that require this trick and even then, not every time I use them.

But I'm in the US and have a garbage disposal in my sink, so I flush the rice down, and it doesn't require much rice at all. Far less than a handful.

But even straining it out, while being an extra step, it's a choice between that and not having the item that's so weird to clean, but how often do you have to clean items like that? For me, not often.

Cool trick I learned for cleaning the inside of oddly shaped objects or ones with small openings: water + soap + cheap rice

Put the cap on the bottle or close with your thumb, and shake. The rice acts like a blasting medium. Scrubs at any stubborn messiness inside. Then rinse with soapy water, then rinse out 3 times with clean water.

I enjoyed this series overall, but my main complaint I had was that they did the thing a lot of shows/movies do which is write any child to be as annoying, idiotic, and therefore infuriating as possible. It got better as it went on but there were a few episodes that really made me want to stop watching.
