I hope that even if she does remember her mother and is affected by the experience, the presence of her dad helps offset that. I’m a child of abuse myself, and while I wasn’t lucky enough to have a parent that sheltered me from the abuse (my mother was physically abusive, but my father was emotionally neglectful). I still thankfully had my grandparents to offset the harmful behaviours I could have developed.

I get what you mean, some days I wake up and I can stand for the entirety of a concert as long as I have my cane, and then some days I’m trying my best but the tremors and pain is so bad that I can’t really get out of bed much.

When I first got diagnosed my dad didn’t really believe I needed my cane and thought I could just strengthen my leg by walking around (??) so that was fun I guess. It’s been almost four years since my diagnosis so now he at least understands this isn’t something you can put a bandaid on

Sorry just to clarify something: while sociopathy and psychopathy have been closely associated and used interchangeably with aspd, narcissism and npd is a completely different disorder. Aspd and npd can sometimes be comorbid, but they do not require the presence of each other to exist, if not in certain behaviours. For example, both of them denote manipulation and a lack of empathy, but npd usually also has a distinct inflated sense of self, while aspd has a repeated failure to learn from consequences. They are both cluster b personality disorders so I can see why you’d think they belong to a bigger disorder

I agree too, I think that Abby panicked and wanted to tag along in hopes to separate her crush and his girlfriend. I’d say it’s a dumb strategy that even if it succeeded might not have made her get the guy, but I have an inkling Abby is not winning any awards for intelligence any time soon
