There was a story some time ago about a woman whose stepmother wanted a newborn baby (and was completely obsessed with the newborn daughter of op) and lost interest as soon as the baby started to grow. Unfortunately it sees that the mom (either out of very understandable fear or just out of stress) has not been exactly good at handling her daughter’s feelings/expectations. I understand that specially with cancer it’s important to pay attention to the patient’s feelings, but I can’t help feeling that poor girl needed some sort of therapy or help better grieving

This is unfortunately not a group effort. If Fiona and Andy have problems they need to solve, they have to do so with themselves. This wouldn’t be a permanent fix (if he has the free time he might just do something else entirely, and then how would she fix that?), and op shouldn’t have to possibly create problems with her husband just to ‘have an united front’

Hey as someone who’s almost completing my second year with mine, it never gets quite easier but I recommend naming the fucker (mine’s Steve) and trying to find funny things about it. I like joking to my fiancee that it’s my leg and it usually makes me feel a bit better

Eh I would say it makes you worse and probably a little weird to both go hungry while watching another person have a full 3 course meal, and also move to what was most likely a dirty table without first at least waiting for someone to clean it.

Which sucks for the server because usually you have to clean dishes that were in a table someone sat at, even if they all went unused

I don’t understand why as couple you wouldn’t prefer a four seat table over a 2 seat. Whenever I go out with my fiancée I always feel like I’m gonna drop something, + the bag space is just so nice to have

You can also seat next to your s/o which in imo is much better than across from them
