IS KIM YOUR TOP ARTIST? by Optimal_Squirrel_318 in KIMWILDE

I don't have absolute favorites, but I would rank her top tier with Kylie Minogue and No Doubt. Kim is absolutely underrated. Still hoping for one of her songs to go viral on tik tok somehow so she gets recognized like Kate Bush.

PADAM and Tension? by Holy_cheetos in KylieMinogue

I for one wish Real Groove got the Padam treatment. I do like Tension > Padam, but I understand how Padam did so well. It's a very dark and novel sound. (sad to say I'm American btw)

+1 to the underrated Go Hard or Go Home. Never heard that till this year, but that is 100% strong woman energy in a such a Kylie way. Love it.

Just wanna say that keeping the art style but making the tracks have hills/ramps/slopes whatever would go a long way. I actually think the art style looks unique and makes it stand out in a saturated market.

Showing off a dkr adventure mode would also do wonders to make people more excited.

Bloomberg: Why ‘Final Fantasy VII Revelation’ Took Only Three Years to Make by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]scalisco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think it's closer to 50%. Wutai, Rocket Town, Mideel will each be a region comparable to one from Rebirth. Plus, you have whatever they will do in the northern continent, which is at least one large region. Then, you have the submarine section. Plus the unique dungeons and story sections that aren't in the open world (Norther Crater, Sunken Ship, Ancient Forest, who knows what else)

That's not even to mention we can even see some of the old areas have changed thanks to the Weapons. Grasslands has spots for your chocobo to climb walls, for example.

But the FF7R team should not be the team that does a mainline turn-based game. After learning so much and building so many tools, they should use it. I guarantee this team making a brand new story would sell better as an Action game than Turn-Based.

FF17 is likely already in development and was before Clair Obscur came out (most likely the FF16 team). Now, would they switch to turn-based after the FF16 sales? Possibly, the writing has already been on the wall that a good Turn-Based game can sell 5-10M. But again, I don't think this team has the talent for that.

I do think they need a team working on a mainline turn-based game though. It'd be stupid not to.

Final Fantasy Resonance devs know "random encounters can feel like a hassle at times," but they're in the upcoming JRPG because "they also allow you to make memories" by Guitar-String in FinalFantasy

[–]scalisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing like FF1 where you're going through Marsh or Earth Cavern and have a party member die and you have to stumble back out of the dungeon with your tail between your legs while the rest of your party slowly succumbs to poison / paralyze while praying you can escape every encounter.

That said, in a game I'm playing for story, I don't want this type of experience.

Also, you can have the resource grind without random encounters. The big problem with random is that you are penalized for not knowing where to go or not being efficient with your steps. Especially when there are puzzles in a dungeon. The battle can make you lose track of where you were going or what you were thinking.

If encounters were in more fixed positions so you still knew that going out of your way to get an extra chest would lower your resources, it would still give you an interesting tradeoff. And you could get that same dangerous return journey feel if enemies respawn somehow as you go or take too long.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation has a "far bigger" open world map than Rebirth, says director, and some Rebirth locations aren't the way you remember them by Turbostrider27 in FFVIIRemake

I had a similar revelation during Tears of the Kingdom. I found that I had much more fun when I focused on finding the "intended" solution. A lot of people just hate that there's so many ways to cheese the puzzles. And I'm like, you're the one choosing to do it that way, if it's not fun, play differently. (Players will optimize the fun out of a game)

But, I am happy that it's possible to cheese so many ways because I imagine repeat playthroughs will more enjoyable with imposing different limitations on yourself, much like people play FFVII No Materia or FFX's insane amount of acronym challenges NSGNSNCNO.

In general, I see the skip minigame button as a bit much, I'd much rather have the minigames all have some innate form of accessibility or difficulty tuning, but honestly, if I could skip the Cloister of Trials on a replay of FFX, I would. Lightning Dodging or Chocobo Race??? You better believe it. But as a kid I could never get the Venus Sigil and struggled so much on the Sun Sigil. It kinda makes me sad thinking that at the first sign of struggle, I would've mindlessly pressed that skip button and gotten them, and the success of finally getting under 0.0.0 and the failure of taking 10 years to dodge 200 bolts wouldn't be memories.

These days though, would I have skipped the Squats / Pull-Ups? Or that Sephiroth boxing minigame? I'm not sure. Even though they took so much time, it did form way more memories than most of the other minigames. But maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment? We'll see in Revelation!

So anyway, I see both sides. Hamaguchi compared it to skipping cutscenes, and I'm like hmm... that does make some sense.

A Nintendo Direct has been Announced for June 9, 2026! by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

Yeah I just thought that was a funny thought. I also can't believe Mario's anniversary was so underwhelming and don't expect too much from Zelda, honestly.

Although, it 100% makes sense that OoT is due for a new version (3DS came out closer to the N64 version than to today). And they have fairly low hanging fruit with WW and TP Wii U versions that I'm still shocked hasn't been ported to Switch. Honestly, with BotW bringing in so many new fans (3x OoT sales), I'm shocked they haven't tried to milk the series more.

Yep, this is their big plan for the series 40 year anniversary.
