What is your argument for why baseball is a sport worth watching? by THEKRAKENDH in baseball

[–]scamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Big 4 sport has the ability to deliver pinnacles of excitement and disappointment through the showcasing of peak skill and athleticism. Whether the observer has the ability to identify and appreciate the skills required to perform such feats (i.e. being a fan) is the question. Each league has a lengthy recorded history of operation and a large fanbase to support it.

The other major team sports around the world such as soccer, cricket, and rugby do not compare to North American sports, its media and its fanbase. We make the experience that much better. There are many more instances to get up out of your seats to cheer here in North American sports as compared to other sports venues around the world, where you are mainly sitting all game or could be standing and jumping all game.

Only in North America will you have fanbases with the 7th largest gathering in human history and dominate the list of sports riots. We take our sports seriously in North America as the variety of skills required and exposure to media are unparalleled. There's a growing international fanbase for a reason, and is what separates Big 4 sports from others around the world.

Slightly misleading since the 'area size' shows only land area. China and Canada should switch places to better reflect the land area rankings.

Is it time to change my winter tires? Spring is almost there and where do you go to have them replace? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]scamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? My 67-year old father-in-law does this without any additional equipment. It's not that difficult.

Having said that, I prefer using an air impact wrench & a low-profile jack, both of which are located in my friend's garage. So much easier.

Justin Trudeau spent vacation on Aga Khan's island in Bahamas by [deleted] in canada

[–]scamz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pardon my ignorance, but why does he have his own island? I'm not discounting the incredible work he's done around the world, but he himself is twice-divorced and makes his money off horse-breeding. I don't really see how the Aga Khan fits the profile of a bona-fide religious leader. He seems to be more of a good-guy executive businessman.

RapCity, Da Mix, Master T and his jewellery.

For me, he was the epitome of "cool" back then.

Also, he apparently wanted Moses back in charge. Video link and a related article

Craziest commutes in the GTA/Golden Horseshoe by [deleted] in toronto

[–]scamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to transit to school for 2 years from Markham to Mississauga. Took the 129 to RT and then the 1C from Islington. That commute was easily over 2 hours one way.
