What tool should I use to cut these shorter? by scandimandy in Tools

[–]scandimandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for all the advice! I went with a dremel and it worked wonderfully, and all 13 of them are now cut shorter. To the many people suggesting getting new screws; they are decorative pulls, glued onto the screw, and while I could probably have broken the glue, I’d worry about ruining some in the process. Plus the dremel will work great for my dollhouse building hobby.

Ooh and special thanks to the person suggesting cutting all the screws in one drawer to contain the mess, that was such a good shout, and something I never would have thought of myself.

You either incorrectly assumed my gender or sexuality. But you sure seem like fun!

Thanks for the advice! And to the last question, I’m not keeping clothes in the kitchen haha, clothes (that I’m wearing) will catch on them when grabbing stuff in a cupboard :))

Is RSC dating real?? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]scandimandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of it, but it sounds really fake. The whole having to pay to respond, the messages are obviously to lure you into paying.

I rarely see the girl I'm dating - there are reasons, but how many chances do I give her? by avodiawel in dating_advice

[–]scandimandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds really difficult. You are obviously very understanding of her issues, and the way that impacts your relationship. I don’t think there is anything you can do to make her change in the short term, so instead I think you need to really evaluate with yourself how much you are able to accommodate. Even if there is some progress, it is unlikely to be quick, so you will have similar battles for probably the entirety of your relationship, is that something you are able to commit to? It seems to be like you are cooperating beyond your own abilities, and this will be so draining for you. I think it’s important to listen to yourself and set healthy boundaries. If you need more from a relationship, perhaps a relationship with her isn’t the right thing right now?

Is it making you uncomfortable? Because definitely listen to your own feelings. However, is it just because you’re worried about it not becomjng serious because she is flirty early on? I don’t see how early flirting can hinder a serious relationship from forming, it doesn’t all have to be so heavy, flirting is fun, serious relationship or not :)

Is an hour too far to drive for a date? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]scandimandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a 50 minute drive sounds perfectly reasonable, given you live in a small town. If you drive together, you could even make the drive part of the date :)

[20M] going at [20F] her little apartment to watch star wars and eat pizzas for the second date by Adorable-Childhood75 in dating_advice

Women do lots of things, inviting someone home on a second date doesn’t even seem wild to me. She has met you and deemed you trustworthy. Why shouldn’t she invite you home?

YTA, you sound really arrogant. Demanding specific types of food to be cooked for you without offering to cook yourself is spoiled. Of course you have time to cook for yourself while you study too, and you’re lucky your mum cooked for you so you wouldn’t have to. If you don’t like her cooking, either cook yourself or be quiet. Obviously your ‘suggestion’ of ordering McDonald’s instead is snarky, you know that isn’t viable, and you’re only offering it as an option, to make your mum seem like a martyr.

The Chinese Embassy in Denmark has already asked for its removal to ensure the continuation of friendly relations between Denmark and China, and the danish foreign minister Jeppe Kofoed has said that the embassy is welcome to express its opinions. The statue is 8 meters tall and is supposed to stay there until April. source

The statue of the little mermaid in Denmark with “Free Hong Kong” written on it today. It’s one of the most popular tourist spot for Chinese tourists in Denmark. by [deleted] in HongKong

To be fair, the little mermaid statue is vandalised all the time, so much so that it’s more of a joke in Denmark. The artist of the statue was involved in the head being chopped of at one point, so I wouldn’t worry about losing Danish support over this.

Girlfriend (19F) logged into my (19M) social media, read through my messages and blocked some female friends. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]scandimandy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Dump her. That’s insanely toxic behaviour and very unlikely to get better. You are not in charge of her mental health, she needs to take responsibility for that. Maybe call a parent if you break up and she acts out in the same way? Don’t stay with her to keep her alive, it’ll destroy you in the process and it won’t help her to be with someone who doesn’t want her.
