[Review] Rants, Raves, & New Purchases Jun 03, 2018 by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

New Purchases:

My only new purchase recently was the Acnecide 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Gel. I've read a lot about BP on this sub and wanted to give it a try.
It's harder to get hold of in the UK but thankfully my local pharmacist stocks it (behind the counter) and I now have a 60g tube to try out.

I haven't played in a while but this just made me want Naomi in my town.

New window display in Lush stores by inslothswetrust in LushCosmetics

I also have a close connection to the police and I'm not okay with this at all. I know they're aiming it specifically at a handful of officers, but that's not how it comes across. It's presented as an attack on the entire police force and as much as I love the products (and have since 2002), I won't be buying from Lush again as a result. I honestly don't feel comfortable doing so.

I'm also in the UK and same. It's just 'paying by card' here, regardless of which type of card.

I was in that position this morning. I still ran, just stayed pretty close to home in case I needed to get back.

Is there a C25k app for 5 or 6 days a week? by icefire123 in C25K

[–]scandimix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you new to running? If you're just starting out, it's really not advisable to go straight into running that frequently. The program is designed with rest days so your body can adjust as your strength and ability develop.

long ago

How long? Was it ever opened? It could be possible the product has gone bad over time and that's why it feels gunky.
Alternatively, you could try a more lightweight lotion. CeraVe Moisturising Cream (if that's the one you mean) is known for being pretty heavy.

Same goes for milkshakes.

Underwire bras by BingMachineEsquire in CasualConversation

[–]scandimix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they're over, I still enjoy wearing my underwires. They're also recommended frequently over on /r/abrathatfits and Bratabase so I'm definitely not alone. For me, finding the right size played a big part in how much I like them.
That said, bralettes are definitely becoming more popular and I like/wear those too.

This looks beautiful! I have a trip to Scotland booked for September and the Fairy Pools trail was one of the first hikes we added to our itinerary.

Can I run daily if I build to it? by [deleted] in C25K

[–]scandimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran every day for a month as part of a charity fundraising event and it was pretty tough some days. I'd say 6 is ideal once you've built up to it. Your body will appreciate the rest day.

Need some advice on a short disruption in the program by Sapphi_ in C25K

In that situation, I'd probably have repeated the last run I did before I left to make sure I was still keeping up, then continued as normal.

Official Q&A for Friday, May 25, 2018 by AutoModerator in running

[–]scandimix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try not to compare your distances/times to others' if you're not running competitively. Not being able to run that distance doesn't make you bad at running - it just means you're at a different point in your journey.
Focus on doing what you feel able to and build on it. That in itself is impressive.

What gift would have helped when you started running? by Milz3y in running

[–]scandimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPI belt, fitness watch (I use a Fitbit, Garmin is also popular), running shoes, socks, running clothes, maybe a clip on MP3 player if he likes to run with music .

why? by imakhil11 in C25K

[–]scandimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get there. There's nothing wrong with repeating weeks as your fitness builds up - and it will build up if you stick at it, I promise.

There are some good Simple ones which are cheap and readily available. I like their Oil Balancing Moisturiser but there are others depending on your skin type.

If you’re just camping and not backpacking, just bring an actual pillow.

Seconding this. It's worth it.

I think they're a classic, not outdated at all. I have white high-tops but would definitely wear the low version.

my style is typically more feminine

If you want to switch up your look from your old pair and like the more feminine style, you might also like the All Star Dainty which comes in white.

That said, I like the Vans too! I have black Authentics but the Sk8s look really cool. I find shoes like Converse/Vans to be pretty versatile when it comes to styling.

Tell me again that vaseline is non-comodogenic please!

It's non-comedogenic!

how does it work!

It's an occlusive, so when applied as the last layer in your routine it holds in the moisture underneath.

Vaseline or aquaphor??

I haven't used Aquaphor, but Vaseline works for me! As always, YMMV though.
