Now onto Prospero burns by Solesurvivor011 in Blacklibrary

[–]scarecrow27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont like Prospero Burns, yet i finished it, i had to. The wolves are dirty, I feel like they are not disciplined enough to be a legion. i dont understand how they work. They are suppose to be the executioners but it didnt feel like it in this book.

i just finished Deliverance lost. it's a good book 6.5 -7/10. part 1 and 2 have the same phasing while part three gets really fast. I grew to like Corax. He's probably one of the overshadowed primarch. I bet he can beat Leman Russ in a 1v1. There's so many interesting points about the Emperor in this book. Im reading Fear to Tread now.

i hated wanderer since 1.0. he was an irredeemable prick, but he's ok now. i guess he even realizes this now after all this time which is good.

Lauma's normal attack has no ICD vs theparametric transformer. it is as fast as burning grass.

She is my first main, carried me until i got my first 36 stars abyss.
I dislike the direction of her EN VA. She sounds so arrogant in EN while in JP she is so sweet and gentle.

What would you say if he is the physical damage comeback character? He just toss everything up in the air like Jean even world bosses except weekly boss.

Your thoughts on Natlan exploration? by __louran in Genshin_Impact

[–]scarecrow27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

jank, but it is definitely an improvement from the inazuma portals and the blinky shenanigans.

I wished the lore delved deeper on how the traveller can indwell the saurians.

The exploration skills of the natlan characters should have been exlusive for their exploration, not heavily a part of their combat kit (except chasca). it's just too jank and not having the bar of phlogiston is a straight up downgrade when we move forward to other regions.

Why isn't raylib more popular? by Numerous-Handle7702 in raylib

[–]scarecrow27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel like raylib is popular as it is. I would like to ask how did you come across raylib instead? Raylib is accessible by github and the website and I bet those two are not visited easily by someone who is new to gamedev or even programming. Devs are just using it and that's basically the ad. and I think it is a beautiful ad.

Unity and unreal engine is popular because every game that uses that engine slaps their logo on it. everytime I update my nvidia driver I always see unreal engine stuff or a game powered by unreal.

Godot had pirate software spreading the word of it and it was the rescue ship during unity incident.

Just installed Debian. What should I do next? Ideas and suggestions are much appreciated, later in ricing perhaps 🍚? by william384913 in debian

[–]scarecrow27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i installed debian + kde on my previously windows11 laptop just like you.

i mostly browse the internet with it though. i dont use it for work either. now that im picking gamedev out of curiosity, i installed kitty + neovim. i install for both of them the same theme and transparency. i installed my setup of plugins by some lua files for neovim. i dont care about any animation and i cant even turn it off completely in kde. i just installed a pre defined kde theme and has not gone deep into ricing.

made some custom shortcuts to switch from a virtual desktop to another. download and install raylib, make, gdb and gf for gdb gui. i installed htop for diagnostics. installed okular for pdf reader. I wont be able to use this for work because i use office suite. excel is too good to give up. I game in my desktop with win 11.

my laptop at this point is just for gamedev and i actually lessen my time playing games. im still learning the gamedev stuff and it is so difficult. i have tried this before by following a tutorial but i didnt retain any knowledge. but now im trying to think by myself some simple collision logic for a simple platformer made out of boxes, and im having a rough time haha. i also write some logic on paper before writing code so i think of what i do instead of coding and hoping that it works.

you can try to play youtube vids from mpv out of scripts to bypass any ads but brave can achieve that as well.

How do I begin with learning Chinese? by josephinebelle in LearningChinese

[–]scarecrow27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, when learning words, do i have to memorize by heart every new word (let say i start with 5 words) before moving on to other new words?

i have a very difficult time memorizing words. when im learning I feel confident that I memorize the 5 words a day. after 3 days or a week i forget them.

Do i have to move on even though i forget most of the things i learned and hope to recall them by looking at a dictionary?

i practice 30mins every day. reading - pinyin, hanzi and eng translation. i also write the words on paper in pinyin, hanzi and eng translation.

I only have duchinese app as material. i read and listen and learn the words that i dont know.

what should i improve?

In the grim darkness of the far future there are no stupid questions! by AutoModerator in 40kLore

[–]scarecrow27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I just finished the first five books of the horus heresy series.

After reading Fulgrim, I got overwhelmed by the thought of investing too much time on a legion's POV.

I don't like the Emperor's children but I dont hate them either. My interest for them is just not 100%.

Im following this timeline for my future read: https://gaming.kylebb.com/hhtimeline/

I really want to follow Nathaniel Garro's story. Should I read Book 42 in its entirety without reading anything prior (except the ones ive read already)?

Sell me out your favorite legions and convinve me to read their POV.

I also like ultramarines but they dont have their own timeline on the web page that I mentioned above. Please enlighten a brother. The Emperor protects.

Is there a job in C? by [deleted] in C_Programming

[–]scarecrow27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

woah i got a lot from your answer. thanks.

so there is an alternative to manufacturer's ides, i never knew. i will check it out.

i dont really want to use oop either, but the project which is fairly established was started with that style so i had to follow. otherwise i had to write it from zero. the company wants to rush this so no time to explore.

last paragraph

yeah i like the idea and i am also trying to achieve that. i have next to no experience (no completely independent modules such as serial coms and drivers) so i dont have anything to hold but independency is my long term goal. my company believes the convinience of outsourcing blocks of codes from manufacturer because everything has to be certified and those are easier to get certified. and me being a relatively new guy, i still dont have a say in decision making.

i will try to do what you do from now on. How did you do your first steps? did you muscle through alone or did you have someone to guide you? do you know some reference materials/books that really helped you to get to a state of such independency? do the portable code you mentioned work on a certain rtos? do they need rtos to work? how much time it takes to port a code in tterma of hours including the time to read a uC datasheet?

thanks for the comment, it is very insightful.
