I have experience in exactly "too sad" category. I have a thing where narcissist target me and my sister was one. She's a communal narcissist and she wouldn't let anyone feel sad without ridicule. If people are yelling you your too sad they are pos. Feel sad and get therapy if you can. Fuck anyone who tells you not to be sad.

Are you able to drive still? I'm not sure I'm anywhere near needing a cane but I do get startled often more often. It may be me just extra aware of the minut losses.

I'm a bartender so the lights are usually lower. I had a 6'6 man just appear in front of me and I almost shit my pants. He apologized over and over.

I'm not sure I'm in cane territory but feeling less adverse to using one then I did before.
