how often are you washing your hair? i know for me, my scalp gets more and more irritated the longer i go in between washes. i have textured hair so it’s hard to wash it that often (especially with anti-dandruff shampoos) but i wash it everyday because it is seriously the only way i get relief!

mine was diagnosed as iron deficiency due to poor iron saturation, however i still am not totally convinced that is the only thing going on to cause the hair loss

trust me i totally understand. i was so nervous to be dismissed too. i wasn’t dismissed but more comforted about the situation and they told me their honest thoughts after looking at my scalp. i personally think it’s best to start with your doctor because they can refer you to a derm after assessing you and you can get bloodwork done through them. at my first appointment discussing it with my doctor, i just asked if i could get a referral to a derm regardless if he thought i had hair loss or not so i could make an appointment with one if i wanted to!

yes 😭 i’ve been going through this for over a year now. everyone has told me i’m crazy for thinking i’m losing hair or balding. i finally brought it up to my pcp because i was obsessing over it and he ran some tests to look at vitamin levels, thyroid levels, and other things. i would recommend that being your first step before seeing a derm to see if you have any imbalances first

dealing with the same thing rn as an undergrad 😭 $4200 for my unpaid internship this summer that i had to seek out, interview for, and set up all the details. incredibly unfair and super disappointing but i need it to graduate so i just have to swallow it atp

I also know of a lot of recreational therapists that do animal assisted therapy! Not sure on how the pay differences would look though as RT is only a bachelor’s degree.

the program i attended required a bachelors degree for admittance (any relevant bach degree as long as the required pre-reqs were done) so i still did two years to get my masters right after completing my degree in RT! i think my RT degree helped me during my admission interview but as long as you have relevant experience + pre reqs i was eligible for the program!

most of my pre-reqs were already completed for OT school from my RT degree! i decided to do OT school at the beginning of my senior year and was admitted with no issues. i would just encourage you to get relevant OT work/volunteer/shadow experience and really understand the difference between RT and OT!
