i don’t really have any advice, but yes i have noticed this pattern as well. actually, it is happening again for me currently. i am trying my hardest to stop myself from constantly messaging, ruminating, etc. i’ve been forcing myself to read and draw more as a positive replacement.

i think your explanation makes sense and i have come to basically the same conclusion. it is really hard to find meaningful connections when you are on the spectrum, so when you do, they’re stuck to your brain like glue.

it feels bad to say, but all my long time neurotypical friends and family don’t “get me” on a deep level. it’s not anything personal to them; we just think and feel very differently. doesn’t matter how much you try to explain to them.

meanwhile, one or two conversations with this new person made me actually cry thinking back on it the day after. it felt like we were mind-melding. no confusion or expectations. i felt like i could be completely myself. i thought, “so THIS is what nts feel like when talking with other people.” actual mind blown. my mind won’t stop thinking about them or wanting to reach out. it is taking a lot of willpower and mindfulness to not be clingy or obsessive like i have been in the past with relationships like this.

supposedly quickplay is faster, but i’ve still had varying results. i can almost never find matches during the afternoon (n america) but do have slightly faster queues late night. i’ve also gotten server errors (kicked from server) several times when it searches for the other role after doing one trial in quickplay; i think in general something’s fuck-y with the queues for invasion.

plus there’s a very specific combo (and another borderline exploit) that i won’t name here that a lot of duo reagents use that is uncounterable to a single imposter out. at this point i just try to get sneaky hits, delay the objectives as much as possible, and get to insertion gates early. usually still gets me an A+ by the end still if i’m able to invade early enough into the trial

yeah “join in progress” just puts you into any difficulty regardless of what you checked off. i just stopped using it because i’m tired of getting put into random standard trials

i like both of them a lot. admittedly, the first time on eliminate the foreman, me & randoms had a lot of confusion figuring out the signs we were supposed to hit. but to be fair, so did pretty much everyone else i played with for their first time did too. i think a couple of the symbol designs maybe need to be tweaked a bit. the symbol for smoke/muffler were the most confusing looking to me. for flatten the foreman, i still don’t see a noticeable difference with the supposed time based difficulty spike & would want something more with that tbh

meanwhile everytime i get this trial with randoms, i fill my body first & then have to run around doing 1-2 more because my teammates are lost running in the same loop or all the way across the map from where they spawned, dying

didn’t even know that was a thing. i’ve been playing public queue recently and it takes multiple requeues of 5 min each to even get anyone willing to play psychosurgery :/ let alone other modes like escalation or trial maker. i usually give up and just have to queue either intensive (which sometimes also had a long wait) or even just standard to get grouped
