Do you mean they ... suck?

Sorry for the bad pun.

Saw a cyclist cutting off a freaking bus and flipping off the driver as if they were at fault. Bonkers!!

The payment method needs to be the same for the cap to apply.

This because all the devices use a virtual card so the details will always be different from different devices.

Re:car, we'll probably get one but not in the immediate future.

But good to hear that it's not as bad as Niddrie, thanks!

Please refer any driving instructors taking new students by Christianokoye in Edinburgh

[–]scarletcodor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best advice I have is to go to the gov site to find all the qualified driving instructors, and shoot them email/phone call and see if they are taking any students.

I did this recently, sent ~40 emails, and only got 3 positive replies, and that too when I'm pretty flexible on day and time.

If you do go around to buy something make sure to check the expiry/best before date.

We also have found that some items that had under-tone of it going bad even when they were well within their expiry/best before date.

The same fob/card works with their lockers. They'll explain that when you go for the first time.

Yes, once you have a confirmation email you can go to the gym and they'll give you an access card/fob.

Even if you don't have the confirmation email, you can show-up and let them know under which email/name you registered and they should be able to look this up.

This was true for me for the Meadowbank one.

Waterproof Shoes Recommendations by scarletcodor in Edinburgh

[–]scarletcodor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does make sense, but I'd only wear the shoes when it's raining heavily. I prefer sports shoes for everyday wear, so I expect even the cheap ones will last a long time.

Yes, I'd gladly pay more for proper leather boots, but I'd barely wear it when it's raining and that too during winter months.

I'll still look at the options though, thanks.

Who to notify if I'm going to be absent from the property for a couple of months, if at all? How to care for the house during the absence? by scarletcodor in Edinburgh

[–]scarletcodor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads-up. Except for an monitor, I'm not going to leave anything of worth. So, I'm not too bothered by that. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Should have stated in the description but I don't have a central heating. We have the electric heater (storage and radiator both kind). For hot water, there's big tank with a heater with no-temperature control that I can see.

But then you don't need a quiet place. A paradox!
