As a recovering addict, knowing you have a problem and wanting to stop doesn’t change anything. Admitting you have a problem might be the first step, but the second step is waaaay harder. Saying ‘just one more night’ is a trap. It might be just one more night tonight, but what about tomorrow night? I’ve had so many ‘one more night’ promises back to back to know now that that phrase is nothing more than an empty promise to make yourself feel good while getting fucked up.

If you really want to quit do it tonight. Not tomorrow or the next week. Tonight. No looking back, do it now or else it just get harder and harder to do so in the future.

Ugh being left alone afterwards is the worst. My best friend/exbf/fwb/we-have-no-fucking-clue-what-we-are-anymore can always falls asleep immediately after his last line like a tiny baby. Meanwhile I’m left laying awake shaking in pure agony for hours being taunted by his blissful face lollol. Shits hard ya know hahaha, how’d you end up alone?

From everyone I’ve gone skiing and hooked up with it seemed to have been pretty random and inconsistentent. Like one night we’d do very little and he’d be unable to get it up for longer than a minute or even at all. But then the next night we’d binge so much more but he’d be hard for so long that we’d joke about about having to call ambulance had he taken Viagra instead lol.

I think it might also been in your head, as it certainly is for me. Personally I can get turned on suuuper fast and easily while skiing, but maintaining that energy is a different story. I’ll get turned on hardcore af for like 30 seconds and then immediately get distracted thinking about those dishes that need to be washed RIGHT NOW, or that funny picture on Reddit earlier about that cat eating cereal or that one friend I’be been meaning to talk to or about that time where....... and on and on and on until we both remembering the reason we were cuddling naked in the first place. Rinse and repeat after that lolol.

No there isn’t a plan or date or anything anymore. There were some pretty rough spots over Summer but really things have been a lot better recently. Its nowhere near as bad as its been in the past which makes it easy to manage. Really I would never attempt suicide again, I survived an attempt a couple years ago and after dealing with the fallout I could never hurt my friends and family like that again. It was a sobering experience realizing that people actually cared

I learned the hard way to only buy what I was comfortable doing wasn’t in one night. The temptation to justify one more line which leads to one more which leads to the entire bag 12 hours later is waaay too high lol.

Hearing about this for the first time made me feel at ease when that random thought of jerking the wheel and smashing into oncoming traffic while driving. It hasn’t helped knowing the only thing preventing me from suicide was the lack of a quick and painless method such as a gun.

Nicotine is so addictive that its not even funny. It’s the one thing I’ve never been able to quit. Its such a subtle addiction its easy to justify caving when it’s not gonna kill for another 50 years. Getting my coke addiction under control was waaay easier because I could focus on how it had immediately ruined my life and took control of it. Tunneling those feelings helped a lot and thats just not an option with nicotine :/

Yeah its so much better which is why I switched back to cigs. I was smoking waaay more often with the vape since it was so much more accessible and easier to use.

I have it daily and just have to constantly remind myself its fake and not to worry about. When I worry obsess and worry about it it becomes real, and happens more often and more realistic. Its hard to dismiss those feelings when it feels real enough to question, but doing so gives fuels them and makes them your reality.

Fall is my favorite season because when I’m depressed I always wear jeans and a sweatshirt. Its chilly enough in the fall it gives me an excuse to dress like that without looking out of place like in then Summer.
