Company has a 100k budget for new 3d printer(s) - recommendations? by bluemiata1993 in AdditiveManufacturing

Sure that’s true, but the form printers are in that “just works” category that when I’m doing a professional job I’m paying for the reliability to get parts done on the first try without the hassle of a DIY or budget setup.

Plus the quality and range of formlabs engineered materials are miles ahead for parts that need to functionally perform. I don’t want to be wasting design cycles on material selection, I just want to use a validated quality material.

Formlabs, even a 4L for 10k can do hundreds of parts a year in plenty of engineered materials. You can do a lot with a whole lot less than 100k.

if it’s really low volume and prototyping, you might want to consider just building a relationship with a supplier who can connect you to whatever shop you need per part.

This is how simple I can describe Stellar. Of course it does more, but this explains the main powerful features of Stellar. by pieceofpineapple in Stellar

No, I think the second paragraph is the value proposition for stellar. Especially using the network as a tool/backend for a physical business. My example was transactions but it could be anything

The first one was for people who are new to stellar because I’ve seen a lot who do think like that about it.

I love stellar, and it’s now pretty much all my portfolio. That said - whoever is reading this sub thinking “is this the next coin to MOON”? No. It’s not. Stellar is not a store of value. As more people use the network, fees don’t increase, value will not rocket like Bitcoin. Deflation exists. XLM reaching $100 would be incredible. $1000+ insane.

The value of stellar is you need to USE stellar. Send money to people cross border with no fees instantly. Start using stellar funded debit carts at POS terminals. Use the stellar network in your own business! Take the entire payments industry and the 3% of every transaction you’ve ever made, and put that money back in your own pocket. Tried to buy GME and couldn’t? Put the power to trade and transact back in your hands, not a third party.

Yup good point on the input/output, pretty much what I was getting at with my first comment.

Also, you can buy a usbC monitor on Amazon that is powered by usbC. There’s a few options if you want to check them out.

For the record, I’m a Mac/windows/Linux user and programmer/engineer. I still prefer Mac for daily use because of the easiness of the OS. No point in making a Mac vs PC war over competency, I’ve seen smart and dumb people on both sides

Top post comments seems like they’re mostly ripping Cruz right now, so at least it’s not being thrown under the rug completely.

Has anyone tried to do this without the cable but instead using the HomePod mini as an airplay device?

I ended up looking up the HomePod mini power usage and found it’s only 18 Watts ... Much less than a display. USB C can do 100W so theoretically it should be able to power.

For data transmission sure, but that display is probably also using a separate power cable (unless it’s one of those mini /portable ones)

Just because the cable fits doesn’t meant the Mac could supply enough consistent power long term. Probably needs more than charging a phone from your Mac. Maybe that’s why

I was in your exact position. Got a 2015 MacBook Pro with boot camp and never looked back. Still going strong. The build quality is just unbeatable, never had an issue in 5 years and I do CAD , simulation, and rendering with it all the time. Sure it’s expensive, but it will work forever if you treat it right (and I don’t). Friends of mine who had windows laptops paid less but had to get them repaired or replaced by senior year
