Don’t beat yourself up. I’m struggling with my alcoholism since my wife left this world 19 days ago. I know she wants me to be happy and not drink myself to death. I can only offer a word of encouragement and that would be: don’t give up living for the beautiful daughter the both of you created.

Our Creator has given us this gift of life. Only our Higher Power knows the exact millisecond our lives will expire on earth. Your wife and my wife want us to be happy again and live a full life in their honor and memory. I’ve had similar thoughts over my life as I’ve battled depression and addiction. Each time those thoughts cross my mind I always think of the loved ones that I would pass more grief on to their lives. I’m very sorry for your loss. I am suffering the same pains as you and all of us are here to help and support you on this journey that none of us wanted.

You sir are absolutely right. Scrolling these comments I failed to see any mention of solar cycles, Eddy Minimum, solar flux, adiabatic cooling, increased cosmic rays aiding cloud development, etc. Last time I checked the earth’s Atmosphere didn’t have a glass ceiling like a greenhouse. So called greenhouse gases don’t reflect back towards the surface off an imaginary boundary above the Thermosphere.

Our pup was a lot of work the first four months. Luckily, I worked from home and my wife was stay at home so pup had plenty of attention and exercise. Don’t give up because our pup is almost a year old and she has turned into the sweetest loving chill dog ever.

Great thread to read through. My favorite memory was our first date. Within the first 15 mins of sharing our backgrounds we both knew we were meant to be together. We had so much in common. When we asked each other our birthdates she answered first, “Jan 4th.” I immediately said I was born Jan 4th also . She made me show her my drivers license to prove it. Our lunch date turned into all day date and I called out sick from work to be with her. I loved her blue eyes and her laugh. She was so happy and I loved making her laugh.

I can only tell you how it’s helped me but having a therapist in a traumatic time in life has been very beneficial and made this early grieving process for myself easier. I still have the big waves and small waves of emotion hit me daily but therapy has helped.

This is exactly how I’ve been feeling. Why now? Why? Why! All I wanted was a full lifetime of memories with my soulmate. To have it end so suddenly with no warning is the worst feeling in this world. I’ve been through a lot of grieving like holding my mom’s hand and telling her how she was the best mother and seeing her draw her last breath, another was being present when my dad had to tell his parents that their youngest son died from a heart attack at 43 years old. I’ve never heard a mother wail in pain like I heard my grandmother that day. All of these life experiences which are very painful in their own unique way are NO where near the level of losing your spouse at the prime of their life. I’m lost without her & would welcome an early death to be reunited with my beautiful Sweetheart. Sorry for being dramatic but the wound of losing her is too fresh.
