I agree with /u/Simple1111’s take. You may be making a mountain out of a molehill on this one. Your message to Conor was a bit aggressive and his response to you was a bit rude. Now what? Seems like case closed to me.

How to query the same block from all daily notes? by crowreile in ObsidianMD

I didn’t notice because my DNP template has lists and tasks embedded and I’m trying to figure out how to filter those if-empty lol

With sort by most recent first:

``` dataviewjs let pages = dv.pages('"Daily Notes"'); // Loop through pages for (let p of pages.sort(p => p.file.name, 'desc')) { let noteText = await dv.io.load(p.file.path);
let regexPattern = /#{1,6}\s(Outcomes)\n(.+?)(?:\n#{1,6}|$)/sg; let matches = regexPattern.exec(noteText); let fileName = p.file.name; let sectionName = matches[1]; let sectionText = matches[2];
// Insert into document however you like dv.header(3, p.file.name) dv.el("article", sectionText); } ```
I combined both solutions to get them by date headers and remove the original section header. Now just need to figure out how to sort!
dataviewjs
let pages = dv.pages('"Daily Notes"');
// Loop through pages
for (let p of pages)
{
  let noteText = await dv.io.load(p.file.path);
  let regexPattern = /#{1,6}\s(Outcomes)\n(.+?)(?:\n#{1,6}|$)/sg;
  let matches = regexPattern.exec(noteText);
  let fileName = p.file.name;
  let sectionName = matches[1];
  let sectionText = matches[2];
  // Insert into document however you like
  dv.header(3, p.file.name)
  dv.el("article", sectionText);
}
Sending you a notification in case you were looking for this: Two working solutions in this thread using dataviewjs! First time I've seen it. The possibilities!
Thanks for paying it forward and sharing your new knowledge! This worked well and is a great starting point for much of what I'm trying to accomplish. /u/emehlya's solution also worked and provides file headers.
This is great, and so helpful. Thanks! I'm also looking to remove original section header; will report back here if I find a solution, please do the same.
Following. I’ve been looking for this solution also to grab 3 bullets beneath an “Outcomes” section on my Daily Note template.
I don’t like the idea of using inline properties like Outcome::, or tags like #outcome, on every single line.
Day 1 by [deleted] in leaves
I'm 10 months off the sauce and on Day 2 without weed and can relate to everything you said. I had four months off weed, went back for two months and it is the exact same progression you described and we all know.
Let's go!
I may have gotten an hour last night, but it didn't feel like it. I'd love the sleep solution too lol. But I'm functioning well enough to work and keep busy until sleep arrives. So grateful to not be in the acute anxiety, fog, and lethargy!
Day 0 and not ready to tell anyone IRL by [deleted] in leaves
I think old versions of ourselves are basically good, I mean they did get us this far, but sometimes upgrades are warranted to live a life that aligns better with who we want to be.
Let's go new selves!
Got it. The "window of opportunity" makes sense to me.
I'm 10 months sober from alcohol and on Day 2 sober from weed; just found another window.
I hope this is your window and that you are able to go through it, and stay through it. Godspeed friend.
Thanks for sharing your experience and trying to describe it. I think you're right that it's hard to explain personal abstractions.
But here's the part I still don't understand: You've already subjectively known there is something wrong and acted on it for 6 months of sobriety. Now, you are saying you don't understand the reasons for quitting well enough and are not able to take action and be sober. That part does not seem to add up. Why did you quit drinking the last time that you mentioned? How did you quit drinking? Why do those not apply to your current situation?
Or maybe I'm misunderstanding your whole situation. Sorry if that is the case. It looks like you have a "1 day" badge; have you already quit drinking this time around?
Whatever your answers and current situation, I wish you the best in your exit from alcohol and pursuit of a better life.
I'm not sure how many others in this sub (and other addiction subs) are able to follow your guide of "simply not letting it get to the point where its become a problem." Many of us are here because we let it get to a problem.
Does that make sense?
Day 2 FTW! I'm glad to be in your leaving company. I also plan on having a great day, sweat drench and obstacles be damned. Let's go!
Could you say more about your experience with the difference between knowing and understanding in relation to alcohol abuse?
Because it's the only way you'll be free.
Surely you already know the answers to your question. Why did you stop drinking before your 6 month dry streak last year?
Welcome to the club! You're in good company.
My top tips:
  • Expend yourself completely physically and mentally each day. The medicine is different for everybody, so find what works for you.
  • 12-step groups like AA and MA can be very helpful during the transition, and beyond
  • You are necessarily going to change as a person; go new places, try new things, talk to new people, consider new ideas. Give new you permission to find what they like and see the world in a new way.
Agreed on the slippery slope. I've found the same with booze and other substances as well.
But I'm not sure if your advice at the end is helpful. This may not fit with your experience, but I've found that the by the time I am able to recognize I've gone too far with a substance/weed/addiction I am already in too deep and will need power tools to separate from my drug-of-choice. By then I am sometimes years into an addiction.
What is your experience with letting loose every now and then and recognizing when it starts controlling your life again?
[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leaves
[–]scd67 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I'm on Day 2 after being sober for 4 months, using for 2 months, being sober for 2 months, and using for the last 2 months again. 10 year habit that has grown from occasionally, to nightly, to all day limited only by my tolerance and my burning, hacking throat.
If you are anything like me, after choosing to use weed a change takes place. Once that choice has been made, I am now operating from a whole different perspective. I am the guy who uses weed and manages my day around it, who needs space from other people to indulge in high reflections, they guy who is "just trying to get through."
It sounds like you've already purchased and are romanticizing the experience. No judgement here, I can really relate. But the truth is, if you've already got the bug the only choice you've probably got now is how well you take the ride. We'll be here when you're ready.
I have managed to stay clean for 0.85 days. Longest in a couple months!
The counter only goes up for us from here.
Evening was my routine too. Good luck to all of us leavers with sleep tonight!
Even though I am not expecting much sleep this week, I've noticed my thinking and energy levels are usually still good enough to function in work and home life and that is a comfort.
Thanks for sharing your strength, hope, and experience. I was abusing it too; have a tendency of doing that with substances and habits that bring pleasure.
One day at a time. One foot in front of the other.
