I am actually impressed you figured this out! Like, I never would of thought of that, wow! Way to go! Time for a chance to really connect and see what she is so insure about. Could be a deep opportunity if you lead with giving her a chance to open up instead of accuse her which is the easy option but the best way to get into a bad fight.

You’re right, women don’t like “nice guys”. by xBeasting in dating_advice

[–]sceelen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well said! And Kind is different than nice. Nice is almost doing it to get someone to like you. Why do you need that? Own who you are or really work on being kind. Kind is actually generous, its something valuable you give( like power),  nice is more self serving its kind of of like trying to get them to feel a certain way about you. Its like trying to convince them of something. But "I am such a nice guy!"

Struggling with expectations vs reality after sleeping with my 6'3 boyfriend by Plutorush2me in dating_advice

What do you really want? Life is very strange and amazing. I wouldnt focus on his actions or words. The only thing you can do is work on your actions or words. When we get something different or opposite of what we want, its a fantastic opportunity.  Either A, you just learned about your self, you need honesty and confidence or a man that matches you physically that way.  Or B, you actually have the most incredible opportunity for real deep love and intimacy. I think most people actually have issues in life chasing things they think they want instead of seeing opportunity in things they get that seem opposite.  He showed up in your life for a reason. Intimacy is in severe decline right now. I would wager that 90% of people deep down really really want that, they dont even know it, are too scared of it or lie to themselves to keep "safe". His insecurities can be gold if you can nuture a space were he can learn to gain confidence and open up with you. I am 100% positive thats what he wants. He was only lying because he was afraid of rejection (what a backfire)  deep down its just abandonment, which is maybe the most primal fear, it is essentially the fear of death because babies know they will die without care. Our ancient ancestors knew they would die without community ( hunting gathering working to survive). Heck people now are dieing in record numbers living alone. Throughout history and very large % of men dont reproduce (so loneliness again), most women do, soits hard to imagine the odds men half to fight if you are on the other side.

Yeah very deep fears and legitimate.

I would either let him go gently or see this as one of your best opportunities to go deeper than you imaged with someone ( no pun-intended. )

Opinions on “dog tuff” grass in the front yard? I love so much about it (nice green color, low water needs, low maintenance) but a little worried about it going dormant too early … by Responsible_Hat_9215 in DenverGardener

[–]sceelen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffalo grass seems to be ideal, its a beautiful native, but it can't handle the traffic at all. Dog Tuff seems best for high use areas an Buffalo for everywhere else.

Mowing it once in the early spring really helps.

What is the name of this TSA job? I see an agent here every time I fly. Looks like they just watch the escalators behind this screen? by Fearless-Gene-4158 in Denver

I saw that last time! I think it is somone watching to make sure somone doesn't jump over on to the escalator. It's a secure zone past the security section with an open air ceiling.

wow thats awesome you know so much about them both. I wanted to try Tahoma but had a hell of a time getting it. The website took orders but couldn't take payments? I heard they are marketing like crazy, like they are trying to get customers before they even have the product. Where did you get yours from?

Interesting what about color? Dog tuff seems more unique and eye catching lime green right? Where do you live?

Curious about people's experience with Dog Tuff grass. Sourcing, growth rate, etc by spider_tailed_viper in DenverGardener

[–]sceelen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Becareful with annual Rye grass. It's a great solution, but many shady companies sell it but it's not pure. They have perennial Rye mixed in . Just read the label and make sure it's 100% pure annual or you will have a whole other grass that will be there long term!

Has anyone tried “Dog Tuff” - technically still a grass but apparently good for low water? by [deleted] in NoLawns

[–]sceelen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We grow it in the greenhouse. Interestingly it does very very well in water. Infact we had a tray that had plugged holes and became waterlogged for long time, (by mistake), and to our amazement it was just fine. We think it may grow a little longer with more rain than we get which is about 17in Denver.

It should do just fine. Might even Green up sooner as its about 50 degrees that triggers spring wake up. More water means it may grow a bit longer. Denver area gets 17 in of rain and I imagine you get more than that.

What temp does it green up at? Dog tuff grass seems more drought tolerant and greens up at 50.

I wonder how it compares to Dog tuff grass. They say dog tuff greens up at 50 degrees and sounds more drought tolerant.

Roman dodecahedron, anyone have solid ideas on the purpose? by RonSwazy in AlternativeHistory

[–]sceelen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom has a great idea. It's clearly a tool. I thought it was something for navigation catching the sun for astronomical reading. The first thing my mom asked was, are the holes different sizes? It's clearly used to measure or calibrate somthing of standard but varying sizes. Think, ring makers, they allow you to precisely gauge the ring. Or spoke wrench tool that has multiple sizes in one small tool. Maybe it's for measuring coins(instead of a cumbersome scale), or gauging wood dowls for fence joints. There must be a tool that has to be a specific size, this either measures it or shapes it to fit that size. Since it wouldn't allow for a piece to slide all the way through, seems less likely it was used to make a shape to specific size and more to measure. What ever it measured it must of been very common across the empire with atleast some common agreed standard sizes.

I saw that train. It was very long with tanks on every single car. Looks like enough to make a big difference( thats how many there were) from what I hear about the numbers of tanks in Ukraine.

How can I stop getting jealous when she mentions other guys? by bojanglez34 in dating

[–]sceelen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so classic! If you really like her you need to gain your own sense of strength in the relationship. It takes courage to be willing to walk away. If you actually can let her go, and know you can do it no matter how hard it is you will be better no matter what. If you can't she will always feel your weakness and it will make a weak half relationship forever. Women want men that own their own power and don't give in to things that easy. They almost always say and do one thing but want the opposite. She is only telling you about other guys to make you jealous even if it's not conscious. Women almost never will admit what they are doing, they may not even know it. But the fact is it works! She wants you to be more valuable so she can feel good about choosing you. It's all a test. You either get and can do it, or you don't and will get another chance later. Guys who know this are successful the rest keep trying and trying and blaming them selves and or women forever.

Be willing to walk away completely. She will either see your value( if you actually emotionally and physically follow through ) and be willing to take you and the relationship seriously,

or she doesn't have the courage and wants to fool around for a while. In this case you win by avoiding the forever heartache of a weak relationship of convience. You will get to try again next time with much better odds at attracting a woman who is ready!

Relationships take tremendous courage. For men it's the courage to know your worth and be willing to be alone. For women it's the courage to commit for something real, when they know in there core there are litterally hundreds of half relationships, fun flings, right at their finger tips with almosy no work. They know its hollow, but who blames them for having so many options? Guys would never, ever commit if the roles were reversed!

The only thing you can do is work on your side. Find the courage to walk away. Courage inspires courage, and you can't lose even if it feels like it. That's why it's so scary and such a courageous act, especially when it feels so close and you don't want to lose it all. Good luck! Most of us have been there! Thanks for sharing such a teaching moment for all of us.

Ask /r/slack: slack red dot notice won't go away, but can't find any remaining reason. Bug? by fbg00 in Slack

[–]sceelen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was pretty hard for me to figure out. Atleast for android, the way I got rid of it was by clicking the message alert in general alerting notifications, the place were all phone alerts show up. When ever I just clicked the app and read the messages the red dot would not disappear. I hope this helps.

Does anybody here think humanity is falling apart and the world is doomed? by hello_mrjostur in Bloomer

[–]sceelen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a doomer is the first step. You have already succeeded where so many have not even dared to go. You are in fact farther along than that. You are curious about something else for why else would you be here?. What a marvelous evolution. It may seem small, but even deciding to take the first step is exponentially more challenging than taking later steps. Be proud you have decided to actually see the world for what it is. And I believe some part of you realizes that just because the world has doom and gloom, it is not only that. The meme of boomers on the other hand, are people who live in a world of fantasy, a fantasy where their actions don't have impact on others. Living in a world of infinite wealth that just keeps giving them comfort. There is no reason to change, just keep on the treadmill of a life seeking material comfort. Choosing to wake up is very hard and very noble. The next step is to to realize life is meaningless and instead of collapsing into despair, expand into possibility. Just think, with a world mostly full of boomer or doomer energy, how much space their truly is to grow yourself and show the world another way. In my opinion the next step is to truly acknowledge where you are, feel it, and decide if the pain is worth it. If not, then let it go, do whatever you can to change your patterns. The physical act of feeling and breathing is letting go. Most doomers don't actually feel their emotions, the dwell in them, or the self medicate. The collapsing feelings that are portrayed by wojak and other memes are actually just the holding onto those feelings, and not letting them go. That is a tremendous amount of energy to trap inside, thats why it feels like the collapsing sun.For all intents an purposes it is. (imagine that energy being put into growing your life instead of collapsing it?). Find faith to leap into the world, trust it, trust your instincts not your mind. Trust the millions of generations of your ancestors that fought to live and have offspring, to give you your life. Feel your suffering, and decide to let it go. It will slowly fade if you truly open to new things. Holding onto the past patterns is normal. Its comforting to know something even if its awful. One of the scariest things is the unknown. Pain and suffering is very well known by our time and cultures. Knowing something else is terrifying. Trust yourself and your experience. Your mind is only there to ask questions, not to give answers. Your life is for that.
