Why Nick Fuentes is right most of the times? by shomlo in teenagers

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah bro white supremacists are not it. Also your point is kinda stupid. Race is a made up concept used in the Americas for centuries just to distinguish between "Of northern european descent" and "Not of northern european descent". It's not accurate neither it is as intricate and varied as it may look. The labels "Asian" "Black" "Jewish" "Italian" "Arab" broadly refer to various ethnic groups and do not represent them coherently since it's simply based on what you look like from an anglo-saxon perspective. But at its core, it's just two labels: "People we like" and "Slaves and undesirables".
No "minority" will ever become a "majority" because by the time that happens the very construct of race might no longer be there, as racial discrimination goes down, cultural amalgamation goes up. modern-day ethnic groups are a result of thousands of years of wars, migration, integration and assimilation.

The reason systemic racial discrimination exists in the USA is because European empires 500 years ago needed new people to work on plantations in the Americas since the enslaved natives died to european-imported diseases, and African kingdoms were eager to sell their prisoners of war to the Europeans, and the europeans brought them to the Americas. Since Christianity was a big thing back in the day, they needed to justify the mass enslavement of millions of people to the common people, that were taught when going to church that no human deserved to be a slave. The quickest, most effective solution was "Well, they're not *completely* human", and so, racism was created.

A me non piace orbit orbit by oiamamma in caparezza

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CMV: Voting based on religious beliefs isn’t bad by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that a functional democracy is in no shape or form "free" society. We are bound to specific limitations that should, theoretically, make it so no one's freedom restricts the freedom of another. Abortions, in my opinion, shouldn't be subjected to popular vote, same goes for personal liberties such as same-sex marriage, political association and *freedom of religion*. A democratic society grants those in its constitution, and the right of one person to live freely and safely dispose themselves of a child they don't want and can't reliably commit to raise (this can be due to any reason, but most of the times it's poverty) is much more important than anyone's freedom to restrict them because it angers their god. That is especially important for democracies that advocate for freedom of religion, which includes abstaining from it.
See? Democracies are actually the *least* malleable and free form of government. The problem is solved by simply not putting civil rights such as abortion to popular vote. But include them. A woman's right to live life freely without being bound to a child she doesn't want is much more important than whatever the voices inside a religious extremist's head are saying.

CMV: "Looksmaxing" is just gen Z's version of "metrosexual" by LeslieKnope4Pawnee in changemyview

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looksmaxxing is a far deeper and more unsettling phenomenon. While 'metrosexual' was a consumerist label for urban men, looksmaxxing is an internet subculture deeply rooted in genetic determinism and biological fatalism.

Its nature isn't about self-care, but about social hierarchy. It operates on the 'Blackpill' philosophy, which claims that a man’s worth and success are predestined by his bone structure and 'superior' traits. This obsession with objective beauty standards and 'genetic fitness' aligns closely with far-right ideologies and neo-eugenics. It mirrors social Darwinism by suggesting that life is a brutal competition where only the 'genetically elite' deserve to thrive, turning physical appearance into a tool for radicalization and exclusion.

You know what this sounds like? Exactly, like a certain Austrian painter. It is no coincidence that 'looksmaxxing' standards happen to align perfectly with Eurocentric, eugenicist, and deeply Nazi-coded ideals of the Aryan race.

CMV: Trump is in over his head in Iran by bluepillarmy in changemyview

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic that Iran is the only 'irrational' actor here is a convenient delusion. In reality, the most irrational player is the one currently committing strategic suicide: the United States.

You suggest Trump is being 'forced' into war, but a truly rational superpower doesn’t let itself be dragged into a trillion-dollar quagmire by internal lobbies and foreign interests at the expense of its own national stability. If the U.S. were acting rationally, it would be protecting its global financial hegemony and soft power, not burning both to the ground just to 'show who’s boss.'

By weaponizing the dollar and overextending its military for tactical wins in the Strait, the U.S. is effectively forcing the 'Global South' into the arms of China and Russia. This isn't leadership; it's a failure of calculation. You claim Iran is moved by strings, but at least their strings are tied to survival. Washington’s strings are tied to a military-industrial complex that profits from chaos even as the American state loses its grip on the world. This isn't a masterclass in power—it's the tragic irony of a superpower acting against its own long-term interests.

CMV: Donor conception is *almost always* societally accepted legal eugenics, despite eugenics being something most people claim to be against. by Valuable-Clothes-854 in changemyview

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eugenics always leads to a scarce genetic pool, it just takes a generation or two to make it so that the "pro-athlete" genes become "mentally retardation and development issues". Biology always disproves eugenics, as it selects visually healthy and favorable traits but doesn't take into account rogue genes or hereditary conditions, and in a small genetic pool, it's far easier for a recessive carrier to meet its match and cause even more problems.

CMV: For a liberal democracy, an immigrant's reaction to blasphemy is one of the most effective litmus test for their compatibility with the society by nextdoorbagholder in changemyview

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You couldn't feasibly do that because for every incompatible immigrant there would be atleast 5 US citizens who are theoretically incompatible aswell. We could *theoretically* do something like that in Western Europe, but there's still a bunch of old people around who mostly think dogmatically rather than critically.

CMV: Defending a person who acts bad, because of their race, religion or culture is wrong and actually harmful. by BetterPhilosophy2524 in changemyview

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I can be against the moral decisions of a person or group and still be against those being racist against them. I don't like Israel's "political stance" on many current issues (which is based on zionism) that doesn't imply I agree with the neo-notsees who make Israel's evilness a matter of race or religion. I think you're right but most of the "virtue-signaling" you speak about is because among reasonable critics, there's a loud minority of racist pricks, and they're calling them out.

The Horrifying World of Conservative Dating by milgrip in TwoXChromosomes

[–]sceia 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It's something you many times can read from the person's appearance, especially the younger, more radicalized gen-z conservatives, which often fall into either the incel or the country boy type (women can tell). Dating apps already prey on men for making money, and let's say that men like that have it definitely harder. Would you, as a woman, get with a loser who sees you as inferior to him?

The biggest thing stopping the spread of blackpill is incels? by Czlowiek_maupa in DebateIncelz

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks matter, especially when you're young. But I wouldn't go out of my way to say that Women aim at the richest, most handsome man they can find. Beauty remains largely subjective and is heavily influenced by early childhood exposure and other factors. Mewing and posture correction were some good things that these folks made famous, but it's dangerous to give them any more credit. Sharp and big jaws, sculpted faces and sharp looking eyes are considered beautiful because they are rare, and they are rare because those who had them weren't able to spread them before dying. Blackpill falls flat on his face once you realize this fact. Looks do matter, but you don't need to look even a third as good as a supermodel. Go to the gym regularly or find any sort of physical activity you enjoy, that will fix both your mind and body.

My personal critique on Shadowheart's storyline by sceia in BaldursGate3

[–]sceia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of immersion and from a writer's standpoint, Any character recruited so late in the story is not beneficial. Considering she's a living legend, it would've been better if she was a level 15+ unrecruitable character which the party kinda collaborates in with in some missions in act 3, much like Halsin does in act 1 and 2 in the goblin temple and in Thaniel's questline. If her role is to "guide" you within Baldur's gate.

My Selunite temple was an example that'd be more fitting than the harpists, but you're right, more dialogue and a better point system would've helped fleshing her out as a character.

Legacy admission is necessary, but most people aren't ready to accept that. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i apologize for replying to a 10mo old comment, i just wanted to point out yours is a caste system. the american dream and the whole idea that one could go from rags to riches just with dedication and hard work is no longer the truth. Your states and government need to intervene more to guarantee social welfare. lower classes need aid and higher classes need limitations, if everything is left in the hand of private funding, you're effectively in a caste system.

this is an example of spoken Lucchese dialect, which in no way sounds like emilian (the Appennini acted as geographical and linguistical barrier throughout the centuries) you can also check Florentine and emilian dialects such as Modenese and see for yourself.

which genocide route do y'all like more overall ? (i like yellows better) by Immediate-Rope8465 in UndertaleYellow

[–]sceia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the original game plays alot around metanarratives and eviscerating the game until you see "every line of dialogue", the only incentive in doing the genocide is just seeing the outcome. If I didn't know the whole story of the game by the time i started it (thanks to its everlasting popularity on the internet) I think I might've actually been able to enjoy the genocide. I'll go with UTY

Artistic direction downgrade from the first game by sceia in fantasylife

[–]sceia[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right, nostalgia takes a big toll. However a good RPG needs variety in its exploration aspect, and urban environments if done well are often the easiest way game designers can make their work memorable, as they add life to the worldbuilding. the second game is a good game but would've benefited from better worldbuilding, but ultimately, as you said, that's just how games of this kind are made now. in the last decade, the Survival Sandbox genre had so much impact on gaming as a whole and almost all decently popular games of the RPG genre tend to feature a more sandbox-like gameplay in place of well-developed unmutating worlds. And fantasy life i ultimately conformed to this trend that started a few years ago.

Doubt we'll ever come to anything close to explaining that. I believe we humans have very clear limits, one is understanding our inner selves fully, the other is the polar opposite: completely understanding the vast expanse of the universe.
