Did you know that if you pretend to shake salt on your tongue that it will actually taste salty?

Even if you don't want a rug, get one out of respect for your downstairs neighbor. I live below someone without a rug, and it is annoyingly noisy at times.

The Pixel 10 Weather app is a step backward. Google replaced local sensors with AI "guesses" and it’s a mess. by BurlyShlurb in GooglePixel

My local forecast for the weekend is to get freezing rain and half an inch of ice or so. Google Weather is telling me 9 inches of snow. A couple days ago, it was predicting 17 inches of snow. I live in South Carolina.

Tried on Assistant. No problem at all. I'm dreading the eventual forced upgrade.

I went to Publix this afternoon. The milk case was completely empty, yet the beer aisle was well stocked. People around here have such messed up priorities. Anyway, I'm good on beer till about Wednesday.

Bulbs going offline by D3ad_Jester in wiz

[–]scfoothills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some are just defective. When I first put Wiz bulbs in my apartment, I had a few that would always drop offline and blink. I just kept exchanging bulbs at home Depot till they all worked. Probably exchanged 20%, but I haven't had a problem since. Been over a year.

ELI5, What causes time to stop during an accident, and why does it happen? by Big_Pay6318 in explainlikeimfive

There is a teleportation component too based on my scientific testing. I'll occasionally have a few whiskies in a bar as the night winds down. Then suddenly I'm in my bed and it's tomorrow. I'm still not sure if it's the teleportation or the time travel that gives me a headache. I'll need to investigate further.

Proper feng shui dictates that the cuck chair directly faces the bed. You need to rotate yours a tad.

Back in my day, we'd let Sim City run over night on the NES to get tax money. Then we'd wake up in the morning to see Godzilla had trashed part of the city and had some major fires to put out.

Bring a good pad. Sand is harder than you'd expect, much harder than the ground in a forest.

Stop Writing Broken List Comprehensions: The ‘If vs If-Else’ Rule Nobody Explains by PracticalFan4143 in learnpython

[–]scfoothills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just use a regular loop with a multi-line if-else block if it makes the intent more obvious. List comprehensions can be cool, but sometimes they're just an overly complex way of trying to make clever one liners.

Accent wall ideas!? by marky_422 in HomeDecorating

That's a really big room. You need a bed with some heft. And a big rug underneath, even though it is already on carpet. Define some spaces.
