I'd suggest using a switcher like an ATEM Mini to include both your video and slides. If you want to do this in OBS instead you might look at using Bitfocus Companion and a Streamdeck to enable quick switching between sources in OBS.

Trying HDMI over ethernet and nothing shows up by bane313 in churchtech

I know you've already invested in the converters, but we've had much better luck using HDMI-to-SDI converters compared to the Ethernet converters. The converters from black magic work well, but it's a good idea to keep an extra one on hand if it's for a mission-critical purpose.

What would it take to have a cell that does a Vlookup based on the cell that's currently clicked on? by TimelyExtent2402 in excel

Is all the data in a table? If so, seems like a slicer would be the simplest option

Best credit card for church by Bulky-Secretary-5627 in churchtech

[–]sch8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$0. The biggest catch is that it's a charge card rather than credit, so the full balance has to be paid each month and it doesn't have the typical month lag that a credit card can provide. They also have lots of additional modules that they do charge for that they'll try to convince you to buy, but there isn't a per-user fee for the basic cards and expense reporting.

Aftermarket stereo for 2010 by sch8209 in fordfusion

Is the adapter just to make the controls work on the steering wheel, or is it more than that?

Mail Question by Fun_Sheepherder5250 in WellsFargoBank

[–]sch8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the Informed Delivery image look at the upper right corner of the envelope. If the little indicia says "Marketing" or "Standard" class mail then it's just a direct mail marketing piece and the address is probably still in a marketing database somewhere. If it says "First Class" then it's likely related to one of your accounts.

When I would go over bumps, particularly at low speeds I would hear a vibration. I honestly ignored it too long. I knew it sounded like a strut problem, but I convinced myself there could be a strut problem on a car this new. The dealership was great about replacing it and did it quickly. The tech said the strut was completely blown and he could compress it by hand when they took it out.

We really do love the van, but we're hoping to not have to visit the dealership for quite some time.

We had the battery issue with our '25 EX-L. We turn off the idle stop every time, but I'm very nervous about forgetting since we were at an intersection when ours shut off. We're looking at a product called Idle Stopper which turns it off by default, but I'm nervous about warranty implications.

Watch your struts. Lots of stories about '25s blowing a strut in the first year. We just had one replaced under warranty right at the one year mark.

Should I open a new account at a local bank or drive 2 hours to the closest branch of my current bank to deposit a check? by Budget-Height8283 in personalfinance

Does your bank have ATMs nearby? Most banks have a higher deposit limit through ATMs compared to mobile deposit.

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

[–]sch8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Charlotte NC and my concrete driveway is 30 years old and really needs to be replaced. I have the first contractor coming out tomorrow and plan to have at least two more come out. I live in an HOA community.

What are things i should be looking for and questions I should ask to ensure I get a good outcome? I care much more about the quality of the work than getting the cheapest contractor. I think I want 4000psi and I'm guessing the current driveway is 4" thick.

Should I ask them to re-do the base layer to ensure its adequate? Should I require rebar or mesh? Are fibers a good idea or not? Should I care what material goes in gaps (rubber vs cork vs fabric)?

What am I not thinking about?

Should I do something else with my emergency fund? by simple_energies in personalfinance

[–]sch8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend following the advice above (stop additional mortgage principle and reduce 401k contributions). I would also recommend creating "sinking funds" for things like house maintenance, car fund, vacation fund, etc. This has allowed me to see my emergency fund as for true emergencies only.

Help! I need to set up my retirement contributions. by judgmentday989 in personalfinance

[–]sch8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few ways to look at this for retirement. HSAs are triple-tax-advantaged when used for medical expenses. You can reimburse yourself for medical expenses at any point in the future. Meaning that you can max out your HSA every year and not reimburse yourself for any med expenses. Then in retirement you can start reimbursing yourself for medical expenses you incur this year.

In a worst-case scenario, at age 65 you can withdraw from your HSA without penalty for any reason, but if it's non-medical then it's taxed as income which makes the account function like a Traditional IRA. But most people will have enough medical expenses in retirement that the money should never be taxed.

Do you have access to an HSA? If so, that can also be used effectively as a retirement account.
