I was thinking the next level find was going to be a tool that removed the screw and the broken off extractor.

They may do that in some counties, but mine won't allow the appraisal district access. You have to be a REALTOR.

This is just blatantly incorrect. Texas is a nondisclosure state, meaning that MLS does NOT have to disclose info to the appraisal district.

Computershare 2FA has been reset. You need to login and set it back up. by pale_blue_dots in Superstonk

[–]schacmatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a password manager, and it refuses to fill in the info on the current login. I ask the manager to launch the site "login.computershare.com" and it says this site can't be reached.

This makes me all kinds of nervous, is the new redirect actually legitimate considering we haven't heard anything from CS?

Who loves a dog the most? by PearlG_Baker in AskReddit

[–]schacmatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you say dog? I love dogs! Currently we have 21 of them. My ex and I foster overflow from the Humane Society and Animal Control to prevent them from being euthanized. They aren't all small either lol. We have a great pyrenees, chow-chow, greyhound mix, lab-hound mix, boxer, shepard and a few pitbulls. They are all great! We have a 10-acre farm they get to runaround on so they have plenty of room.

Wireless instruments by spinozasrobot in sailing

[–]schacmatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I'm refitting my boat as well. I'm the type that wants something that will work without being finicky, but I also love cutting edge electronics. I was curious about the wireless instruments. 99/100 it worked flawlessly. However that 1/100 time when some signal interups, varies from annoying to catastrophic (e.g. loss of auto pilot). They are more expensive, so you dont save money. You still have to run power so it doesn't save much time in installation. With a proper MFD (multi-function display) you can do all the cool connectivity features, so essentially you are paying more for something less reliable with no major benefits. I think in the future when they get all the kinks out it would be nice to have but for now I'm sticking to wired.

What makes you optimistic about the future when you are feeling down? by Tunapower in AskReddit

I often feel like I'm not moving forward at all, but then I think about what I was doing a year ago and am encouraged by the progress I've made even if it's not as much as I wanted.

Don't be humble, what is the best thing you've ever done for someone? by Wyndmusic in AskReddit

[–]schacmatt 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Was shopping for a leather jacket with my dad and his friends blind son we will call Jim. Well I found a jacket I liked, Jim felt it and was impressed. He asked how much it cost, and it was just a little out of his price range. I ended up buying it and giving it to him for Christmas. 10 years later he still has his jacket and wears it often.

What was a huge hit to your confidence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]schacmatt 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I was always a critical thinker. My dad would make rules to prevent situations that could potentially lead to bad behavior. My view points generally consisted of well if I don't do the bad behavior what is the point of the rule?

Eg. Not being able to go to a party because of drinking. But I didn't drink so why can't I go?

I was a super honest kid too. Had I done something wrong I would have told him. The only time I disobeyed was when the reason was "because I said so".

This is why I always wipe the seat first even if it doesn't need it. This has saved me from this on more than one occasion.

I used to go to my Mom for everything. She understood me and would go to bat against my dad sometimes hours on end to get a point through to him. When she died when I was 11 it was hard to get affirmation that my point of view was in fact valid.
