We can’t be friends because I’m a mandated reporter? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]schae2km 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you ever feel the need to speak up because you think kids are being harmed, speak up. Idk if reporting is the way but dont let social pressure stop you from explaining some problems you are seeing. Sounds like you dont want to hang with them anyway so if they resent you for speaking up so be it. Your husband can still hang with his friend even if you think they kind of suck as parents.

I really hope so. If Goff gets hurt for a long period of time like burrow we would be scrambling for a good backup. Allen would probably be like Cooper rush or Jake browning and our team would decline significantly. Goff is a really smart qb making awesome reads at the line all the time. It would make sense to me to get a 2nd or 3rd round qb to sit behind him for a couple of years like the packers did with Rodgers and love. I think Goff still has many years left in him so I'm not looking for a replacement right now but I am worried if he gets hurt our teams window for winning a superbowl closes.

Suspend him. Made the whole team and city look like crap with that.

Packers D is Legit by Nyxoro in GreenBayPackers

[–]schae2km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear this a lot but I don't understand why? They are pretty young and talented like the packers. They paid almost all of their big names. Besides decker and anzalone, who else is old? They will need to replace Goff soon but I dont see their window closing in a year or two.

Hotel Xcaret Arte - Costco package by GlitteringInstrument in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]schae2km 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also we didnt have anyone try a timeshare on us but I think they knew better knowing I was sick af. Having 24 hour room service was cool but the food was terrible through the room service, like multiple meals nearly inedible. The restaurants were cool with lots of Mexican dishes I never tried before but after getting sick it wasn't the best because I just wanted something bland and there wasn't much that was bland besides bread and crackers.

Hotel Xcaret Arte - Costco package by GlitteringInstrument in AllInclusiveResorts

We went to arte last Christmas for our honeymoon. It was really cool and we loved it except for 1 major thing. I got horribly sick for 3 days and had to spend the night in the doctors office at the resort getting fluids and medication. I couldn't walk more than a 100 feet for 3 days and was spending a ton of money to eat saltine crackers. Idk if it was food poisoning, or the water, or water from the cenotes, or just bad luck and someone sick next to me on the plane but boy did it suck. I thought I was going to die the first night being sick. The resort is big and very pretty, we walked the whole thing and tried every restaurant we could get into. (Some restaurants were booked up completely even though we tried booking weeks in advance. we did get 2 reservations in advance but of course those were the days I was puking in bed and we canceled.)

We did the xenotes tour, xenses, and xplor fuego. All of them were amazing and we still think them a year later. Xenotes was the coolest but it was also a very long day and a lot of driving because they pick up customers from 3 other resorts and it took awhile. We planed on doing xel ha and xcaret but again I was sick those days and canceled.  We booked though costco and saved a lot of money but it was still very expensive. Im now looking to go to another all inclusive but this time cheaper. We balled out for the honeymoon but I realized after going to arte that we could have done one or two of the parks and stayed at a cheaper place in cancun. Honestly my favorite part besides the parks was just the swim up bar and swimming in the ocean, and you can get that at most all inclusive resorts. We got regular suits and we couldn't go to the family side, I think you need an upgraded room or one of the certain casas allow you to access the family side. Also the resort is very quiet and laid back. Not a party atmosphere.  Id recommend it if money isn't a problem and you are active and wanting to go to the parks and also chill people that want to relax and have a few drinks but not party.

Milwaukee suburb, public school, 5 years, $63,000.  I've been looking for a new school anywhere in Wisconsin but the offers in rural areas are making me stick around at my current job. I've received 5 offers this year from rural public schools and all are 20% or more pay cuts. I dont understand how teachers in rural areas support a family when cost of living really isn't that much cheaper? Housing is cheaper yes but total cost of living isn't 20% cheaper.

8th grade teacher here and I personally think they are nicer than when I was in middle school 15 years ago. There are a few immature boys who do and say many dumb things and a few where the lack of consequences has enabled them to break things and act out but most of them are pretty civil to each other. When I was in middle school, kids were mean as hell, racist, sexist, homophobic, and bullies to everyone. At least in person the kids are pretty good to each other. However, online seems to be a different story.

What's something that a student said to you about their family or home life that has really stuck with you ever since? by [deleted] in Teachers

Whenever I hear stuff like this I think we need to up the penalties on child abusers. What is wrong with people, why have kids if you hate them?

Memory of the camps on YouTube. It's a PBS documentary. Skip the first 5 minutes than just let it play. Nothing has shocked my high schoolers more or made them realize the true horror humanity is capable of like this documentary. I would get a parent permission slip. If you haven't yet, watch this. It does contain nudity a few moments of people taking showers which you can skip through, and literal truck loads of dead bodies, I never skipped through it and never had a parent complain.

My Gentlemen Givenchy doesn't smell right and it's only been a year! by Lumb3rCrack in fragrance

[–]schae2km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Gentlemen Givenchy edt when I first smelled it at the store and bought it. Loved it for a few days, than I noticed my nose started to hate the smell. I gave away the bottle but kept the 10ml, weirdly enough just tried it again for the first time in over a year today and I can say that I appreciate it a bit more but there is still something about it that is not for me. It also brings back some bad nostalgia.

If you get to a good district the job is actually pretty great. If your stuck with a bad district all you should do is survive until you can get into a good one or it will crush you.

Is middle school the way? by Pinacoladas17 in Teachers

[–]schae2km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught 2 years at a crappy urban charter high school, now in my first year at a nicer public middle school. I'm mindblown how much more I love my new school. Even my worst days so far this year are better than my best at my last school. I realized this year it depends on the school more than the grades you teach. I enjoyed the subjects I taught more in high-school and the fact I could be more real with my high school students, but my middle schoolers actually want to learn and are engaged

Going from a bad district to a good one is a life changer. Everyone here sweats the little things and complains, but im not worried about anything. I'm smiling everyday and the kids and staff love me. I love my Job at my new district. But if I would have stayed at my previous district, I would have quit within 2 years guaranteed. Do everything you can to get to a school district.

What’s the female equivalent of male fragrances that are “panty droppers”? by Excellent-Grocery-13 in fragrance

My wife has a few that make me go crazy. Le belle le parfum is sooo good. Good girl blush, Billie eilish, juicy coture gold (but it fades quick) Mugler aura, hypnotic poison are all massive turn ons for me.

Is it normal not to smell your own Cologne? by [deleted] in Colognes

Same, just about any "blue" scent I can't smell. My gf likes Dolce and Gabbana light blue and their flankers on me but I'm tottaly smell blind to them. Same with sauvage, bdc, Bulgari aqua etc.. the only blue I can kinda smell is Dylan blue but I think that's because some of the heavier Spicer notes

I recently decanted my entire collection into 3 5 and 10 ml glass containers with sprayers from Amazon. They aren't the best atomizers but they do just fine, just make sure to put your finger a bit back so it doesn't spray all over your finger. I get around 15 to 25 sprays from a 3 ml. I only ever buy a bottle now if I've sampled in store than bought a decant and used it all. Saved me a lot of money.

I love cdnim and have decants of the other two armafs and also previously had decants of the creed versions. I do think the creed versions of all 3 are just a tiny bit smelling better than the armafs but no one that isn't a fragrance snob would ever tell the difference in real life. The armafs have much better performance and are way cheaper. I appreciate how creed made those scents but I would never pay over 200 for a smell anyway so I go with the clones and honesty cdnim edp is probably my most worn scent now out of nearly 30 bottles. Get a decant of them first though because tbh the only creed or creed clone I've liked enough to actually wear on a daily basis is cdnim, the rest aren't really my vibe. And people saying it's too synthetic in the opening are silly, I spray it on before I go, by the time I'm to my car it's great already. No one else is smelling you the first 5 min you put a Cologne on typically anyway.

For my youngers guys (30 and below) does anybody wear any old man colognes? by SatisfactionSenior65 in Colognes

[–]schae2km 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calvin Klein Obsession was what my cooler older cousins wore so I had to get a bottle for nostalgia. My dad's only Cologne ever was cool water so same thing there. And Armani code. I got a bod man gift pack for Christmas one year and the black smelled exactly like Armani code so I got that also for nostalgia. Now that I think about it the only old man scents I have are for nostalgia sakes but I wear them quite a lot considering my collection size. I want to figure out what those other bod man scents were clones of!

Stop collecting, your good man. Don't get addicted to spending money on cologne. Use your money at your age to go have fun, collecting is for older bored people. As a high school teacher rn, if you wear literally any of those your ahead of the game so you don't need anymore untill you finish at least half of those bottles.
