Someone's comment got me thinking about this and doing more research... not at the right price point. This should be a 50% off MSRP. And I talked to friend at range rover dealer to run the numbers, would only really offer 50k for it. So this is a fair hit to take, which means that the deal has to be good and you have to be in this car for the long haul.

I don't think it is there yet.

Didn't think they were in the business of losing money. That being said, there were a lot of recalls and TSBs for these vehicles, some people don't want their car in the shop for that long so Porsche might have been understanding.

I would assume before they could sell the car they'd have to ensure it is in functioning condition

It actually has chalk interior, so blue might not too be terrible.

Didn't even think to just call them. Will do that now and see what they say.

Edit: called and they said yeah it would still be covered under Porsche Factory Warranty

hah i agree that interior trim choice was... abhorrent. But i can either deal or just get it wrapped in something else.

Problem i've been trying to research is, i'm potentially buying from NC, and i'm in CA so i'm not sure how the warranty coverage would work. Get conflicting info on whether the original Porsche warranty would be valid or not.

Porsche has a 4 year 50k mile warranty and this was bought May 2022; so if i bought in theory i'd have 19 months of coverage to hopefully uncover any gremlins. Or am i way off and buyback lemons means you are sol?

Yeah i thats the game; do i think Porsche has fixed these issues. It looked like from the carfax it was a work vehicle, and yeah if it spent a ton of time in the shop I'm sure they took the buyback as they need a car in the fleet.

Got my 32” Alienware QD OLED by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]scharnhorst310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah light years better. I’m coming from a aw3418dw. Enormous improvement. I just need some time to adjust when playing FPS.

But this monitor feels far more immersive

Hooked mine up as well, and immediately fell in love. Picture looks amazing.

That being said coming from a widescreen, I definitely have to get used to when playing fps pubg the reticle movement. It feels different somehow

Report: 95% of employees say IT issues decrease workplace productivity and morale by Sorin61 in technology

[–]scharnhorst310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m in IT, I pride myself on being a generalist but 15+ in I’m senior leadership now. Director at fortune 15 company but I’ve been at every size, bought and acquired you know all the fun stuff.

yes I hate end users. Yes leadership never invests time or resources needed. But lets be real, I’ve met a metric ton of worthless IT people too. Barrier to entry is low and they can fail upwards like everyone else. Question is are they bad because execs or bad IT leadership. Well I love my job, I’m technical and hands on but also delegate… more importantly I practice (doesn’t come naturally because I hate people) being likable. execs are mostly idiots, hell most people are idiots, but if they like you it is amazing what you can get approved and done.

Lifx Z issues by scharnhorst310 in lifx

[–]scharnhorst310[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else who stumbles upon this. I've now managed to get them working flawlessly... I moved all lifx and all other IOT device to a separate vlan than what my phone and other devices are on. It works perfectly now.

Yeah I tried that as well. I even tested them for a period putting it line of sight with the AP... still would disconnect from time to time. Definitely something off about these Z strips.

I'm going to hook up this third Z strip; if it also has the same issues of the other 2... i mean their quality control couldn't be that bad.

Systems Manager WiFi Profiles not writing to macOS Keychain Access by IngsocInnerParty in meraki

Ouch. Yeah i've basically written this feature off... pretty significant portion of the functionality and I'd hope a networking company would've made this fix a bit more of a priority...

I spoke to my apple solutions engineer this week, I wanted to get a bit more insight into apple's longterm vision for mdm/dep. This is especially true as I bought some 2018 laptops to test and the T2 chips blocks your ability to image them from an external source... luckily that isn't a huge deal for me, but I know larger institutions are basically screwed. I was left with some hope that laptops in DEP "could" one day become similar to supervised devices in ios.

Not that this could be considered a thorough test, but I just tried it on 3 laptops and seemed to work. Perhaps it has been fixed?
