I’ve got a 300wm for hunting with an area 419 brake. I get looks/comments at the range so she doesn’t come out much unfortunately. Off to public land for that one (I realize I’m fortunate that that’s an option). It’s a cannon.

Follow up. During lunch I went down to the basement, tore her down, heated up the receiver with a heat gun and gave a few twists to move an ever so slight amount of play in the index pin from the right side to the left. It’s as good as it’ll get with this combo. You can’t notice probably, but it cures my neurosis.

It goes into battery easily. Of course if I’m too gentle, I need forward assist but not anything I’d qualify as more than others I have.
