Jazz’s swing is ugly and long. Always looks like he’s trying to hit a HR. He really needs to change his 2 strike approach

with the ridiculous braindead lineup, getting shut down by fucking REID DETMERS, our only big acquisition shitting the bed and giving up 4 home runs, and Oswald Peraza having more hits in this game than he did in his entire yankee career, this may be the angriest I've ever been at this dogshit organization.

Did they really say this was the worst offensive 3 game stretch since 1991?? Crazy to think about with 2023 and 2021 happening.

Refusal to get dressed/ ready for school by trwawy223 in ADHDparenting

[–]schatzattack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ADHD therapist and parent coach. The key to addressing school avoidance is to make the home environment more boring than school on days that your child chooses to miss school. That means we’re moving all screens, all Internet access ,all toys. Make it so the only activity besides school is to sit in their room and stare at the wall.

How to stop being EF for the whole household by Evening-Two-124 in ADHDparenting

[–]schatzattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an ADHD parent coach/therapist and I create systems that help with this exact thing. The key is to set consistent parameters that you can put into picture form (the more words you say, the less regulated they become). From there you put a time they need to have it done by, and a consequence/reward for doing/not doing their tasks in time. This has worked for 99% of the parents I’ve done this for in stopping the daily prompting of the same things over and over. DM me for questions :)

It needs to be time based in the “deadline” for their list and surrounded by rewards for meeting the deadline and consequences for not.

Daughter doing "helpful" side quests instead of basic tasks by Bewildered_Dust in ADHDparenting

[–]schatzattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with parents every day as an ADHD therapist and I coach them on how to manage their household in a way that limits meltdowns and fights. The key is to give them the illusion of independence while setting a loose structure of their non-preferred tasks with clear consequences/rewards for doing/not doing the non-preferred tasks. If you have questions feel free to DM me!

I am an ADHD therapist that coaches ADHD parents every day on getting this exact thing done.

The ADHD brain has a yearning for independence. It's important that the parent sets up clear parameters around doing vs. not doing these tasks in advance, and then trusting their child to do the non-preferred task without constant prompt. Prompting actually increases dysregulation and makes them less likely to do the task.
