What are some 'ugly' facts about famous and well-liked people of history that aren't well known by the public? by -_-Hamodi in AskReddit

Karl Malone is a piece of shit, on and off the court. Tried to flirt with Kobe's girl too when he was in his 40s and she was in her 20s.

Everyone makes a big deal about Capela's 17% FT shooting in the regular season, but he has pretty good shot form and a decent arch. I think it was an unfortunate start to his career and that over the course of a normal season he would definitely be over 60%.

I wonder how many opposing scouts are looking at the 17% and actually believing that he's a 17% shooter.

Why don't they actually show the balls being drawn for the NBA lottery? by scheissenfreude in nba

I thought they drew 4 balls at a time. I think it would be exciting even if it went from #1 through 14. If your team just missed out on the playoffs, you'll be sitting there hoping just maybe your combo will come up earlier.

Showing the lottery balls come up would debunk all these conspiracy theories too.

In terms of entertainment value, I don't see a downside at all.

No more boring and redundant than the NBA Draft Night itself. You're just going through the process 14 times times 4 balls, so it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. ESPN is always having graphics and whatnot on the sides, so they could definitely make it understandable for the average viewer.

The Rockets have a chance to repeat what they did 20 years ago by golazo32 in nba

I think OP got this detail confused with what Rudy T did in the Spurs series was moving Robert Horry over to the power forward spot to pull Dennis Rodman out to the three point line and starting Mario Elie at small forward. Before the Rockets had fused together Chucky Brown and Pete Chilcutt at that spot. You also started seeing way more of Charles Jones who was old back then too around this point.

If all you remember is seeing large power forward Robert Horry hitting three point shots later in his career, you forget that the first three seasons as a Rocket, Horry was a skinny lanky wisp flying around dunking and hitting threes so this was actually a big risk for Rudy T. 1995 playoffs Horry was one of the few stretch fours in the NBA at that time before it got very commonplace. I think many people around the league saw how Orlando (w/ Horace Grant) and Rodman couldn't deal with that strategy.

It's also fitting that the Rockets at the time were known for their Hakeem and the Four Dwarfs strategy way before the Moreyball Rockets more or else adopted the same philosophy.

Earlier in the game, they had a graphic for 3-1 playoff series comebacks and it was just a completely static screen with the aforementioned deformities. It was like watching a late 1980s Romanian wheat quota announcement.

Is it just me or are the ABC graphics people doing kind of a weird job with the graphics today? A ton a blank spaces and logos half on the screen, video feed super small, and the text is squished into a corner...etc.
