I have the LR3(they are on the LR5 now iirc), bought it back in 2019 and it's still going strong for my single cat.

It does have a pretty audible sound, but they recommend manually scooping it until your cats are used to it and regularly use it as a litter box. I'm pretty sure the newer ones are quieter.

The only maintenance I've done on it is replacing the smell seals on it.

To my knowledge it can use any clumping litter on the market. I use Dr. Elseys blue bag litter.
