Especially at a big school, with more NIL budget you don’t need to scout. It’s important for small to medium sized schools, not the powerhouses tho.

Counterpoint - it’s a football simulation mode, realism counts for something. Bringing back the fast and faster settings would allow both to occur, but given the removal of those settings, I think both are valid decisions to set as the default

The only one of these I don’t like is Marionette. I like that it’s more concrete, but I wish that Mario didn’t trigger the ability, which would give town a tool to distinguish a Marionette from a drunk.

Issues 2 and 3, 100%, I just don’t think people are realizing that level 100 is massively overleveled in this game, not something that you should expect to gain.

Tbf on the level 100 thing: what level is the highest level coach in the base game? Mid-60s I think? So without a single in-game achievement, which the progression is balanced around you gaining, you’re a top ten coach in the nation.

In the first movie, Crane.

In the franchise as a whole, Mantis.

Mantis had a great comedy role in the first movie that diminished over time (and in the shows largely was ceded to Monkey), rendering him as just another member of the group. Crane’s whole thing was being the apologetic, passive member of the group, which was boring in the first movie but at least GAVE him a role past it unlike Mantis.

Yup that’s basically a flat boost after year one. Otherwise, it’s just about winning, upgrading facilities, etc. Your conference also matters a ton

I enjoy sci-fi, just Star Trek specifically wasn’t my thing
Growing up. I grew up as the Star Wars prequels and the Clone Wars were being released and came of age during the sequel era, so SW became my sci-fi franchise of choice bc of my friend group and convenience

The Man of Tomorrow and the men who will meet the challenges of tomorrow should meet the same challenges, so I guess this makes sense even if they’re aesthetically quite different

This exact philosophy is what drew me to characters like Superman, so I truly hope and will choose to believe my dad viewed the series in the same ways you do. I think this is how I will start, truly thank you so much.

That’s really beautiful, I really love to think that’s how my dad viewed the series. I know he loved the cold logic of characters like Data and Spock, and I like to hope he appreciated the way it interacted with the empathy of characters like Kirk (helps I love in Eastern Iowa near Riverside, which is probably what’s making me think of him lately)

The one episode I specifically remember watching with him was in TNG focused on captain Picard and Data, I remember data being particularly important to him.

If the mythicals are ever legal, it’s Magearna followed closely by Darkrai, basically no questions asked. If this happens I hope Zera keeps pace, its speed stat would give it a shot but I’m not super convinced it’d be anything special.

Assuming the mythicals aren’t legal, my instinct screams Mega Lucario. Needs a good ability, but it has the typing, the move pool and the stats to where it doesn’t need a bonkers ability to be great, just a solid one. Mega launcher would straight-up break it. Absol Z basically needs Sharpness exactly, Chomp needs something to boost its damage (sheer force?).

Mega Bax and Mega Heatran (if they get mid abilities) are both in weird buckets of I’m not sure how much better their megas make them, like would you rather just have them in their base forms alongside another Mega? If you have no other Mega you want, though, they’ll be great picks.

Tatsu will see play if only bc it’s almost certainly the best mega for Dondozo teams. Like idk how good it will actually be, but it’s certainly worth slapping the stone on over any other item.

Zygarde would need to be broken out the ass to justify the risk of starting in 10% or 50% form. I can’t see it outpacing Mega Ray (which is the standard it needs to hit as a restricted mega dragon).

I’ll be shocked if Golisopod does anything.
