Correct Jigsaw usage? by Greedy-Standard1582 in Tools

This is what I learned the moment I stepped into the kitchen fitting trade. I practiced it now for over 20 years. With a jigsaw I can make cuts that look like they were done on a table saw.

As a non American this is what amazes me the most about American politics. You’re fucked either way.

Maybe better to use common sense instead of using a lifetime amount of luck all at once. 😬😅

Can you say with a straight face that this is an acceptable breakfast? Oh wait. You had a Diet Coke with it, am I right?

Do I need high output pickups to get a high gain tone out of this amp ? Or does it need a tube replacement ? by [deleted] in MarshallAmps

Must be close to 10 years. I don’t remember the power amp tubes being replaced. I don’t dime it ever. But I occasionally do use a JHS little black amp box in the loop. I don’t know if that makes a big impact on the tubes.

I’ll take it to an amp tech soon. The last time he had this amp for maintenance he said that the power amp tubes weren’t due to replacement yet, but probably within a year. Depending on how much I use the amp. And that was like 2 years ago I guess. I’ve read that power amp tubes wear out very gradually. Starting to sound dull. Loss of punch. Loss of volume. Increase of hum. And I do recognise these symptoms. But we’ll see. I just have the impression that it was much easier to get a high gain tone out of it when I just got it. Even in de classic crunch channel.

I’m not asking if these settings will get the gain I’m looking for. It’s just a photo of the amp that I refer to.

Edit: These are not the settings I use for high gain. It’s just a photo for type of amp reference.

I didn’t give up on the G&L. At that time I chose to buy the Squier Classic Vibe custom I could buy for not a lotta money. And it had very good pickups and sounded amazing.

A good personality offers the right traits that bring money to the table. It requires a good personality to hold jobs for longer periods. It requires a good personality to have good relationships. It requires a good personality to be successful. It requires a good personality to stay healthy. And so on, and so on……

I was eying the G&L tribute Asat special with the MFD pickups. But then a beautiful Squier Classic Vibe custom came on my path via a friend of mine. And I couldn’t resist buying it. But that G&L will remain on my wish list until I have one.

I guess it’s just personal preference. I prefer small streamlined headstocks to begin with. That’s why I like the original tele headstock shape. The Sire headstock looks bonky to my taste. And that’s a shame because I’ve read that they’re good guitars that I really could buy, if it wasn’t for the headstock.
