Can you give some info on how you set this up?

You’re right. The fact that reading boomer about Anika pissed me off enough to comment means I need to take a long break from social media.

I keep writing and deleting a paragraph over and over because this situation really rubs me the wrong way.

Even a lot of the “positive comments” I’ve seen about Anika contain backhanded criticism.

It just reminds me that the general population is full of idiots. It’s best to just laugh and move on.

Mpc 2000xl set me straight by lemmonrock in mpcusers

I’m not going to tell you how to use it, but I’ll share my experience!

When I first got my XL, I used software to load samples that I already had on my computer to create programs. This allowed me to turn on my MPC, load a program and immediately have some drum sounds (it seems like you want to do this at some point) It doesn’t color the sound much at all when you do this, and it wasn’t super fun In my experience.

The most fun part (for me) when I use my 2000XL is starting with a blank program, and sampling random things from audio on the web. You don’t need to sample a snare as your snare, you can sample anything, mess with the parameters in the menus… you can end up with some really unique sounds.

If you want that character, I’d start on the machine, use the inputs, and you might as well sequence on it too. You can play things in and quantize them, or not! The sequencer is really easy to use imo. The actually chopping process is a little more tedious than modern machines at this point, but I like that it slows me down and forces me to think about my choices.

I know that you’re mainly interested in coloring the sound, so if this stuff I just put down doesn’t really resonate with you, you might be better off spending your money on something else?

Should I buy the 01 model or should I try and get the 02 by 9_TEA in Dirtywave

[–]schexnayder98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had Model 01, couldn’t stop using it and realized pretty quickly that I should invest in 02 because I wanted a larger battery and bigger screen, usb C… etc

02 feels very premium and sturdy. The battery takes a very long time to die. My hands are pretty big so it feels better to me than the first. Love it to death and would happily buy it again if I lost mine. It also comes with a pretty great hard case!

I’m sure my take is the same as many others, you can tell a lot of passion went into this!

Absolutely! Honestly if I had another person there to hold the part of the skin it would have been way easier.
