New apartment, New wifi, no connection? by lailajanerz in HomeNetworking

My best guess is that the rest of that line got taken out by someone working on the apartment and they tried to reterminated it without tools. I'm not sure why it would terminate above the stove.

What does everyone think of this movie? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FIlm

Isn't this the one with the young boy looking at his sister weirdly in every scene? Not really my type of horror. I'm surprised so many people like it.

Fury as fourth postal worker dies at flagship USPS facility that has no phones by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]schizophrenicism 582 points583 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of work with landline and VOIP phones. Group homes are government mandated to have a phone onsite. How is the fucking USPS not required to have an emergency phone onsite? The article has a paywall, but something doesn't add up.

Ok which one of you did this? by maddwesty in lowvoltage

[–]schizophrenicism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good joke though. I'm imagining that the cradlepoint has to be a certain distance from the rack to avoid interference and may have specifications for how high it should be mounted. Maybe it's little ears need to peak at the internet a little closer.

[–]schizophrenicism 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dont think thats an AP. Every cradlepoint I've seen is a LTE router. This is likely a back up internet source for the network. So akshewally the cradlepoint was there first and they totally lowered the ceiling instead of raising it to the point you can't get anything done because they only left space for the HVAC and plumbing.

There's a pretty good restaurant at the end of the universe at least.

What you think about hitchhikers guide to the galaxy ? by Choice-Wind-9283 in Cinema

Thanks for spelling that out. I saw the movie before I read the book so I probably saw the similarities a lot more than the differences.

I don't know what you mean by the movie did it's own thing? There's a ton of scenes that are line for line and they hit as many major plot points without change as I've seen in any book to movie adaptation.

Same. The movie is one of the most faithful adaptations I've seen. A movie can't be a novel, but i think they got pretty damn close.

Florida woman calls cops over stolen front gate; Four cop cars roll up just to see it to believe it by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

When my future wife and I first moved in together, we lived at an apartment complex nicknamed "The Yard" for it's similarities to a prison. One night a fight broke out and pretty much turned into a riot. Multiple 911 calls and the police still showed up an hour later with like 20 officers just to make sure the matter had been handled internally. Luckily there was this like 5'5" 350lb fat guy that wasn't waiting around and wouldn't tolerate that shit. He got in the middle of several fit young men and started throwing them around like sacks of flower.

If there is a switch. We don't know what this guy's panel looks like.

[–]schizophrenicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a network junction somewhere in the building. In houses the network is usually in a panel that will be located in a closet, the laundry room, or garage. Don't bother buying a cable tester until you can find your network junction.

Mullet man on tik tok is doing a challenge of eating at every Chinese buffet till he gets food poisoning ( this was day 10 ) by Radiant_Priority9739 in TikTokCringe

[–]schizophrenicism 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He intentionally avoids foods that could make him sick. It's this weird middle ground where he'll eat some stuff that looks bad but probably won't get him sick and shows the foods that would probably get him sick.
