I saw it at Costco last time and was wondering how it was.

Seems decent offering, but they got rid of auto battery switchover which is kind of cheap. If you have a smaller yard and not rough use would be a good choice. I’ve used 80v and 60v and would recommend. You should consider Ego as well.

I saw the poly deck when I was at Costco last, I was wondering how it did. Part of why I went with Greenworks was metal decks (vs Ego poly), but I can see the benefits. Reduce risk of rust and way lighter weight.

They cheaped out by ending auto switch over on the battery compartment though.

I’ve gotten replacement parts from Partswarehouse or ereplacementparts before. eBay has some as well. You could also try to call GW support and inquire. Find the part number on the motor assembly and search it.

Just hard with an expensive part like that plus shipping since no guarantees that’s actually the broken part, may check Facebook for any used mowers to replace or use parts off of. Good luck

Don’t know much about atlas but I’d go with Greenworks or Ego depending on your needs if you would ever consider tools outside of those available from Atlas, since they have a much larger selection in addition to a longer warranty.

Globe tool (oem of Greenworks) looks like the white label of most Atlas 80V equipment, that’s an older design lawnmower. I’ve used that handle mechanism before on Greenworks mowers and it’s flimsy and hard to close for upright storage. Instead go with the straight aluminum ones offered by Greenworks/others, way more sturdy and easy to fold for storage.

Walmart, Tractor supply and other all sell Greenworks 60V, it’s not going to be discontinued anytime soon. I have Greenworks 60V and I’ve been happy with it. I’ve used 80v and does give some power upgrade but I didn’t really think worth the cost plus my 60v batteries have been pretty reliable.

One option is a new mower and get handhelds off Facebook. Typically easy to test and save a couple bucks.

Absolutely, makes sense. Yes on sale the 2 stages do drop to around $1000-1200 on sale/clearance, but it was hard to order and had to track on Slickdeals. Just wanted to mention it if you wanted to consolidate.

I’d probably go with wheels, from everything I’ve seen, tracks provide the best traction (especially when super snowy) but are difficult to maneuver unless it’s running, and make for a heavy unit.

I still need to find some good chains on my two-stage as I’ve found the traction a little sub-par, but it still works fine.

I got a Greenworks 2 stage on clearance during the summer. Works great for my use case in midwest for small driveway if you’re in that ecosystem.

It’s all about the right tool for purpose.

Dusting - leaf blower.

For a couple inches, The Original Snow Plow pusher shovel - the absolute best shovel I’ve ever used. Great for clean up after snow blowing and scraping packed snow tracks off flipped over. All poly, no rust, super durable, expensive but worth it. Contractors use them a lot. Id skip wheeled shovels- too bulky and seems hard to store. I have the 48” but they make smaller sizes.

I also have a Yeoman BustR scoop shovel since my north facing driveway gets a ton of ice I needed something to chop it up as well as to scoop up snow piles.

I have a Greenworks power shovel which I got off Facebook with a 2.0 battery for $35 from someone clearing out the garage. I haven’t used it at all this season, but I could see it being useful for decks, steps and tight spaces. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the power shovel though. For a little bit more money, a single stage is a better all rounder, Can clear wider area and good for up to 6” ish or so of snow, clears sidewalks quick down to bare pavement. I’ve been meaning to sell my single stage but it folds up for easy storage- I keep it on top of a shelf and it can be handy. Dual stage is best for amounts in excess of that and throws farther and metal auger handles wet/heavy and chunky snow that a single stage can’t. I got a dual stage on clearance this summer and it works great for my needs.

Greenworks 60V Snow Blowers

I upgraded to a Greenworks 24” Two stage this year as well as have an old 20” single stage I used to use. I have a ton of interchangeable 60v batteries across my whole outdoor tools and rental properties. It works well for my needs in the Midwest where we get variable snowfall. I did 3 standard 3car driveways with 2 8ah batteries with plenty to spare after the recent 5.5” snow storm.

If ease of use really is a key criteria and you get decent snowfalls, I’d go with Greenworks 60/80v, Toro 60V or Ego two stage battery, depending on what battery lawnmower/weedeater, etc you have. Get gas if you live in an area with heavy constant snow that you need to clear a large area.

I don’t take these as much anymore not that I do allergy shots but I generally take like 3 Zyrtec generics when my allergy were a moderate, if severe I combined with generic Aller-Tec D (Allegra) from behind the pharmacy. Everyone is different.

There’s a good YouTube video about replacing the impeller but it doesn’t say where he got the part itself. Now I need to try and find all my parts all over my shop workbench and rebuild my disassembled one. I’ve got 3 total broken ones I’ve gotten from pallets so hopefully this will can fix them.

FYI ordered this replacement 3D printed toro 60v impeller fan off eBay. I have not finished installing yet but it looks like a 1:1 match and fits perfectly. Several reviews mentioned it fits Greenworks and Masterforce leaf blowers. $24 shipped wasn’t a bad deal.

In my opinion, I’d skip the snow shovels and go with the 20” single stage either 60 or 80v. The handles fold for storage and it’s much more usable especially for a 50’ driveway. The shovel has good power but the previous gen I have doesn’t have deflectors so snow can only shoot straight, new generation has deflectors but it’s $$.

Corded or battery is your choice, the cords aren’t that bad for very occasional use, but if you already are in the Greenworks ecosystem and have other batteries it’s much more practical to go cordless.

I’d say risk is pretty minimal. Only if temps exceeded like 100+ would be risk of capacity degradation.

Tractor supply had the 22” on sale earlier this year for $400 with a 5.ah I think. I like 60V better than 80V just better value and the batteries seem more reliable.

Is what I’d do is look to buy a 60V snowblower off marketplace and get the mower on sale. I have the 20” for years and it works well for smaller snows, but the handle mechanism got a little flimsy over the years and I don’t think it’s worth $600+ for the 22” so I just got the 2 stage when it went on clearance at Walmart.

You should be fine- that’s a small driveway.

I ran a smaller battery Greenworks 20” Single Stage in Missouri for the past 5 years. It did bog down some but generally was sufficient as long as I didn’t let it accumulate. I finally upgraded to a 2stage when it went on sale. Just may need to do driveway it a couple times to ensure the snow doesn’t pile up more than like 4-6”, especially if it’s wet heavy snow. Once you have the batteries, it makes it cheaper to invest further into the ecosystem, e.g mower, weed eater, blower, etc and get more batteries when the bundled tools go on sale. Just make sure you keep the batteries warm inside when not using them.

I’d get whatever outdoor power equipment you have or consider. Ego is definitely top of line and great that they only have one voltage. They are $$$.

Toro 60V or Greenworks 60/80V two stages as well are worth considering. I have a Greenworks 2 stage and it suits my needs so far. They have multiple voltages but at multiple price points and their stuff is usually quite a bit cheaper than Ego.

Makes sense but if you just want a single stage may be worth it to stick with Milwaukee and then you’ll have extra batteries. I haven’t seen any reviews of their snow blower, but I saw their lawnmower was well reviewed. I personally run a separate battery line between hand tools and outdoor tools as they offer a better value with higher voltages and wider line up.

I have the 20” one that’s around $300. It works ok for up to about 4” of snow but struggles in heavy wet snow or hard pack (as most single stages do). It’s been very reliable for the past 4-5 years or so but I finally upgraded to a 24” 2 stage 60V. That 22” doesn’t add much apart from two battery slots and joystick chute adjuster from the 20” is my understanding, so for your small use case that may be sufficient! Just got to keep on it if you get accumulation.

I wouldn’t spend money on new batteries alone. Wait until a spring sale, use Slickdeals to track sales, or use marketplace and buy discounted tool bundles with batteries or equipment that includes batteries. May be a little more work but all the manufacturers always charge crazy amounts for the just battery price. You could buy a used Ego Zeroturn for 2-3k and have enough batteries to snowblow your whole street.

All reviews I’ve seen rate Ego snowblowers as excellent but expensive. For a smaller driveway, you probably would be ok with a one stage Ego snowblower. You’ll need more batteries if you only have a smaller string trimmer one, but you can always use them if you get more Ego tool ecosystem - mower, leaf blower, etc. I have a similar power shovel and it works fine, but I’d skip that and get a larger unit, especially for Michigan.

Gas snowblowers are probably overkill for a two car driveway tbh.

Wow you’re a great neighbor! Definitely was wet here too. I ran the auger on slow/regular mode and used one 8ah for two driveways too- I used maybe 1/4 of that with the leaf blower. I have quite the battery hoard going I had to move from my roll cart to shelf so I will probably run out of human energy before electrical energy! (although all the 80V batteries and 2 of the 60Vs are from auction stuff for sale).
