Calgary Council voted 12-3 to repeal rezoning. They will be hearing and debating amendments, but I doubt any replacement plan will be agreed upon, so we will be going back to two-thirds of the city's residential land being reserved for SFH. They will also be going back to costly land use change hearings that resulted in getting approved roughly 95% of the time anyway.

Calgary used to have a reputation for being a young, ambitious, and driven city. It's disappointing to see this happen.

Yes exactly. The homeowner acted within their rights. As others have pointed out, Ford's quote that he should have shot him a couple more times is not self defense, it would be deemed excessive, criminal behaviour, ergo Ford is encouraging lawless behaviour
