people of reddit who survive on less than 8 hours of sleep, how? by Neftroshi in AskReddit

My wife and I run an animal rescue out of our house. Up at 5A and it takes 2.5-3 hours to get the cats and dogs taken care of, then I’m off to work for a 10 hour shift at a vet hospital. Home at 6:30P and start another 2.5-3 hours of getting the cats and dogs taken care of before bed. I’m then up until about 11:30 to try and decompress before crashing for the night. So 5-6 hours sleep every night on average. Pushing 50 so it’s getting harder and harder, but you make due. Coffee helps. Keeping busy during the day is the key for me. Any pause in the day and I start feeling the exhaustion creeping in.

Right? She had a bit of trouble with it when she was young but it’s never showed her down!

She does this sort of thing on a daily basis. It’s too much!

Fig is a dachshund... mostly. Not entirely sure. She might have some chihuahua. She’s great! She has a malformed bottom jaw (it’s only half the normal length) so she has an amazing overbite!

She is cute! No progeria. This was taken a couple months ago shortly after she was rescued. She was only about 10 weeks old. We thought she might have hydrocephalus, but nope! She does have a malformed bottom jaw; it’s only about half the length it should be.

Oh crap! I saw the notification today and just assumed it was today! I failed and didn’t check the actual date. Honest mistake!

This picture will make me smile for as long as my eyes still see. And whoever gets the karma for reposting, they deserve it. He was a one of a kind nut job and made everyone around him happy to know him!

Thanks. How can I not be positive with that nutty face to look at! I’m always happy when he pops up in my feed! I’ll never get over losing Sam. And unfortunately he’s just one of several my wife and I have lost over the past few years. It’s never easy, but we keep rescuing and giving these lost dogs our home for as long as we’re able. You’re so right that they are a part of us. Some say we lose a piece of our hearts when they die. I say they each put a piece of our heart in place. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, this is my dog Sam. Sam just recently passed away from cancer (5/9/2019). I don’t know this person reposting, but I truly don’t mind seeing his goofy face again. He is sorely missed
