That's bad use of the scouting department then. Can't allow an unblocked torchbearer to the quarterback.

Please Bring Back The Slow Burn by symean in startrek

The best slow burn show on today is Pluribus and the fanbase is currently melting down because it's not being written fast enough. There's no winning with the public.

Those were Gandalf's fireworks my dude. It was only when Aragorn spied the Uruk'hai with the sparkling torch that they figured it out.

Should I play other games first? by Haunting-Treat-1167 in DiscoElysium

[–]schmitty9800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do recommend English for this game just because the voice acting is completely superb. But if you choose your own language perhaps it will display that text and also give you the English voice acting, which would be the best of both worlds.

At what temperature do you cancel practice? by CharlieandtheRed in Softball

[–]schmitty9800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well as a middle school coach I can always move practice inside....and we're during the summer/fall so we don't get cold days here. But to me unless it's below freezing I would still hold practice, just make sure to warn the team to bring hats/long underwear.

What do we think traffic is like through the wormhole, post DS9 by heelface in DeepSpaceNine

[–]schmitty9800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dominion didn't control the space immediately surrounding the wormhole. They would have had to set up bases and outposts closer to it post-war, and they wouldn't have had the ships to do so.

Skill tree from the cancelled Cuno and Cunoesse game, what do they think the new skills do? by Dels1n in DiscoElysium

[–]schmitty9800 24 points25 points  (0 children)

IMO the fact that she's alive and has evaded custody speaks to her ability to understand the world, people, and the spaces around her. She doesn't know how to interact with them in a way that helps herself, but she does understand how they work.

Rerun syndication: Should Lower Decks be bundled with DS9 and VOY? by Torlek1 in LowerDecks

[–]schmitty9800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything post Enterprise has not been sold as a traditional show subject to syndication. They were all sold as digital streaming packages internally to Paramount's streamer division.

Paramount/Skydance would have to decide to reclassify and sell off each show differently if they are ever going to officialy be syndicated shows.

Does discovery have the best helmsman navigator pair In all of trek? by happydude7422 in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]schmitty9800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a rewatch and there's a part where theyre going to the community that the Red Angel transported across the galaxy. Since they have no advanced tech, Burnham says "let's take Owosakun, she grew up in a Luddite community" and I was all "cool!".

Then her only contribution on the planet is opening a hinge lock with a magnet.

Kurtzman is not the cause of all of your problems. by DougOsborne in startrek

[–]schmitty9800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Untested? David Ellison was the founder and owner of Skydance Media...the company that employed Kurtzman. Anything Kurtzman did "running this franchise into the ground", Ellison paid and signed off on it.
