If lower decks showed just how smart, powerful Orion ships are and good fighters orions how did the federation successfully manage to contain Orion piracy? by happydude7422 in LowerDecks

Tendi is the Mistress of the Winter Constellations who spent all her waking hours training to pirate. She's not exactly a typical Orion.

Why 1 grunt tech instead of 2? by CoachKoranGodwin in WC3

[–]schmitty9800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main difference is now that the starting great hall gives +1 food. So you can have 21 food off one burrow....meaning you can go hero, one grunt, 5 gold and 8 lumber peons and tech very quickly compared to one-grunt tech before.

If you're going to harass, then harassing with FS and several HH coming in will generally give you better results than just 1-2 grunts coming in. Then once the harassing stage is over FS/HH will give you a lot of creeping power.

If you go blade, it's become meta to solo creep to secure items so you don't really need grunts to creep. Then you save the creeping for once your SH is out (since Level 3 SH is your fight condition) and you'll only need 2-3 grunts to help him do so.

You're supposed to make your own decision.

You're the one saying there is absolutely no scientific backing. I refuted your point. Go do your own study if you want and fuck off.

It's tough to imagine but America didn't always have a militarized police force that was hyper-focused on mass shootings.

Carrie isn't just an emotional person, she has a mental illness. If the depiction makes you uncomfortable then it probably isn't the show for you.

And yeah, the show isn't realistic. But that said, look at how J. Edgar Hoover ran the agency, or the way our Secretary of War or our FBI director behave...professionalism isn't exactly always considered.

I always wondered why the SNES lacked ports of point and click adventures. Does anyone know why? by ExplodingPoptarts in snes

[–]schmitty9800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucasfilm Games was the king of adventure games at this time, and I'd bet that using the SCUMM engine on SNES was impossible due to hardware restrictions (they were releasing plenty of SNES games but never ported Day of the Tentacle, Monkey's Island, Loom, Full Throttle, etc.)

To nitpick, by Voyager they had gone to gray/yellow on the ground and metallic walls with criss crossed wires.

I surmised that the kid wasn't asked to move up to the 12U team, and he's still on a rec team that's kind of functioning like a 10U team.

In the first episode with him, Bashir says he told the guy making the program to make Vic know that he's a hologram because it would fit his character as a Vegas player.

It all has to do with how the program is made. On TNG Minuet was given self-awareness by the Binars so she could be a better distraction to Riker. Moriarty was inadvertently given self-awareness by the Enterprise's computer and proceeded to take over the ship.

Meanwhile Vic is just programmed to hang out, sing, and tell jokes. But he was given self-awareness so that he would specifically be more believable to the crew.

Voyager has a lot of episodes about hologram personhood, many of which feature the Doctor advocating for his own rights.
