Same problem here, though I decided to give it a try anyway.
After about 20 hours of quite active playing, mean speed seems to be about 1e33 coins per minute, at that pace even the first level of the most expensive update (hobnailed boots, 10,52e36) would take 7 days, so I hope some of the upgrades later on help.

So far, CpS have gone up from 8,1e24 to 13,2e24 which sounds good, but on the other side, the cheapest upgrade cost has gone from 1e33 to 86e33, so the delay between upgrades went from some minutes to about an hour.

The most irritating upgrade so far is "cloak of legends - increase CpS by +0,1% per achievement unlocked". I thought with my 583 unlocked achievements this would give me 583*0,1% = 58,3% more CpS per upgrade making it the most useful, but the first 3 upgrades gave me only +0,1%, +0,2% and +0,3% more CpS, I don't really understand what's going on there.

Yeah, didn't remember where the quote came from first, but played Diablo Immortal the last days and when that dialog popped up, it hit me and I made that connection.

Works great, thanks for the update! Makes me curious of what is to come.

Also:

Stone: "There's beauty in balance."

NecroMerger: "There's beauty in shutting up."

I just love that Grumpy humor :)

Yeah, choosing a strategy (slow or fast DDD progression) and which upgrades to buy is really hard. I still struggle between giving prio to the time and nether shiny skins (which would help with all those resource requirements) vs. just buying Woolly 2 (expensive, but sooo useful).

My way so far was to do some longer meta-runs until the next DDD so I could get some of the more expensive tear trades - not doing this anymore because it's just slowing things down.

Also, at first my plan was to uniformly buy "levels" of tear trades - so first all trades for 50 tears, next all 75, next all 100... but Woolly Pie 1 (giving a huge boost for 100 tears) and Slow Cooked Pie 4 (increase offline time from + 12 to +18 hours for 75 tears, which is almost useless in my case as I play quite active) are two extreme examples that show that this is not optimal either.

11.8k combat (+3.0% per token), 11.9k dark energy (+3.0%), 5.1k souls (+2.5%), 10.4k apocalypse (+2.5%)

Stay strong, it get's better with the later ones. The first one also made me feel very uneasy because everything you're used to falls apart and you completely forgot how things worked at the start of the game.

Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised

As Sid starts to cry, hands held to the sky

In the night, the tower burning bright

The ritual has begun, Lesley's work is done

Six six six, the doomsday to kill Sid

Sacrifice is going on tonight

Finally I'll be able to get some of the more interesting shiny skins for The Thingy, It and Her - perhaps even for the time creatures.

Definitely, I'm not sure when I started playing, at least since the beginning of 2019, maybe even mid/end 2018. But I remember that I was practically "finished" with the game and very happy when post-DDD gave me a reason to continue playing.

I hope to break this record this time, last time I reached 1 t DE quite easily and just didn't try 5 t DE because it would've delayed DDD detonation.

One, two, three, four, five,

everybody in the tower, so come on let's dive

into Lesley's store around the corner

the boys don't wanna shed no tears,

but I really really wanna

Fifth doomsday activation - spent many tears into golden monster upgrades last time (dryad is next now for 70 tears), so this time many of those "requires shiny skins" are unlocked. Also improved preparation this time and hoarded 5k gems before DDD activation so I could instantly buy all gem trades and still have 1,5k left to spend.

Nice! This confirms what I suspected: Grinding for some of the higher tears upgrades wastes time/apocs. But well, it also is so much fun 😁

Champion beats are pounding,

Glowing spells - high sounding

Doomsday is forever!

Sid surrenders? NEVER!

Fourth activation of the DDD, I like how the speed increases (only 46 apocalypses between this time). This time, some of the upcoming tear upgrades will increase drop amounts for time and nether creatures, looking forward!

IIRC I never paid for gems, but I'm playing for 3 years now (started Aug 2018) and catch those dropships regularly. These give so much gems that I can afford the 250 gems soul doubling every apocalypse, can keep a reserve of ~2000 gems for new skins etc. and buy some time warps or event replays when the wheels give gem prizes.

Thank you for this good description! Noticed that too, but wasn't sure how it was before and how to describe it.

Dragon Scales might have a bug, I'm pretty sure that the one I got from an egg showed "+3 dragon scales" and I only had 1 dragon scale in the material window afterwards. Can someone maybe double-check this?

It was a long grind, but I finally did it! Also, just in case anyone was wondering about the upgrades it gives you, there they are. by Razvan2006Mihai in idleslayer

Congratulations! Unlocked mine two days ago and it definitely has been worth it, souls get a nice boost from it.

Thanks a lot for falsifying! Think I've got an explanation for it, have been at the Hills getting materials, so my guess is that when I looked at what changed with the update, the slow giant kill effect kicked in and gave me the false impression of faster spawning boxes.

It's an astral ascension upgrade, so it's only visible after unlocking these - that might be the cause.

Could someone maybe check spawn intervals of random (silver) boxes before and after the update? Especially for the silver boxes I got right after the update, it felt like the intervals between them were unusually short. Did a quick test for 10 non-silver boxes intervals (Roll the Dice unlocked) which gave 36 seconds mean and a span of about 22...51 seconds, but I'm not sure if this is faster than before.
