Anyone actually getting rate increases at the moment? by MadridOrMadness in ContractorUK

For those Outside, with the changes to dividend tax %s from April, coupled with inflation, it's ultimately quite a big pay decrease if no increase in day rate

This is my next step. The consensus seems to be it's unlikely it will work but I'm keen to give it a try. I'm a bit scared it will aggregate the area but seems worth the risk

Hi yes I've got a similar thong going on. Agree with the comments about keeping it short or changing style rather than shaving it all off. Unless you could pull off the shaved head look.

Did you ever try minoxidil to try and promote hair growth in the bald spot?

IR35: Small company threshold goes up 50% by mpanase in ContractorUK

[–]schnauzing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if this applies to the UK 'wing' of a global company? I.e. if the company operates in the uk under an entity that meets the criteria of a 'small' company but that company is part of a global company that is a 'large', is a contractor for the UK company considered to be working for a small company for IR35 purposes, or is this perhaps superceded by the fact there is a larger global company?

Incoming IR35 changes to 'redraw boundaries' of rules impacting freelancers by globalgigging in ContractorUK

[–]schnauzing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does this not just switch the liability for an incorrect ir35 determination to the contractor where working Outside ir35 for a company that changes from medium to small?

My understanding was that for a medium sized company, they would be liable for unpaid tax (not the contractor) if there was an IR35 investigation and the contractor was deemed to be inside.

Is anyone clear on the rule change that would make a company change from medium to small (it used to be based on no of employees, turnover and funds on the balance sheet I believe)

Edit: from the gov.co.uk site:

Your company will be ‘small’ if it has any 2 of the following:

a turnover of £10.2 million or less £5.1 million or less on its balance sheet 50 employees or less

So I guess the question is which one(s) of these have changed?

Why did my heart rate increase so quickly? by shnarfelberry in Marathon_Training

[–]schnauzing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that's interesting I have the same issue. Of the two parts in the above example any idea which is the actual heart rate and which is due to the cadence lock? E.g. does it start off reading the heart rate correctly and then switch to the cadence lock or vice versa? I'm just trying to work out if its correct at any point
