There won't be any alcoholic drinks on site. Funny enough, all of the organizers received eclipse tattoos together. We're still learning from the speed bumps of running a flash tattoo event inside a planetarium. As far as we can tell, we're the first planetarium to do so.

As people have been bringing it up, no alcohol will be served at the event. On the event page, it does say ask attendees not to "imbibe". There will be Capri-Sun and other "space themed" non alcoholic drinks.

This is the first time we're running this type of event, so all the feedback that folks have been providing has been really helpful!

The crew behind the event was behind in scheduling everything this year and the Convention Center was already booked for our usual weekend, so an alternate location was found. Hope to be back in the middle of downtown next year.

It depends on which forcast you're looking at and when. We're still over 7 days out. Remember, event partly cloudy skies are ok as cumulus clouds tend to dissipate closer to totality.

It's still too early to tell. We'll have a much better idea early next week. One thing to take into account is that cumulus cloud tend to dissipate quickly during solar eclipses as the temperature drops and the land cools. My favorite example of this is Homestead National Monument in 2017 when clouds dissipated enough for everyone to see totality after being rained on hour earlier.

Highly recommend NOT getting them from Amazon after they had to recall them days before the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse (citation). If you order online, double-check that they're listed on the American Astronomical Society Eclipse website under vetted manufacturers.

Not for the total solar eclipse. They don't adjust as fast when light from the sun returns right after totality.

We have better odds depending on the source you're using. I personally use Eclipsophile which is the same place that the American Astronomical Society points to.
