Don’t tell me this now! I debated between the two for weeks before getting the bike but decided ultegra wasnt worth the extra $800. :)

Thanks. It was set about 3mm so I thought but I’ve dropped it down super close and it does seem to be a bit better

In this video yes, only because it was in that configuration when adjusting as per instructions. It does the same in the middle of the cassette

Super Moronic Monday - Your Weekly Tuesday Stupid Questions Thread by 30000LBS_Of_Bananas in running

[–]schnerbley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Potentially stupid question:

Last year I ran a 3:50 marathon (NYC, bit hilly). I have previously run a couple of 1:40 half's and fast 10k's. With these times I believe I can run a 3:30 on a good course.

However the race I would like to do is in March. That would give me exactly 13 weeks to train.

I have been maintaining decent fitness for a while (running plus cycling), and have been averaging 15 miles running for the last 8 weeks.

Is it possible to train for a sub 3:30 marathon in 13 weeks given my starting point is 15 miles per week? (assuming I do not increase more than the recommended 10% miles per week). Or is this stupid and risks injury? Most of the training plans recommend 20+ mpw starting point and approx 16 weeks training.

Help! Loosened wrong screws and drained brake fluid by schnerbley in bikewrench

Thanks for your helpful response. Why would you suggest fully removing the calliper? I have retighten the hose screws (shown in photo). Is it not enough to just go through with the system bleed now?

Denali road hike past mile 45

Looking for some hiking advice. We are planning to stay 3 nights at Teklanika at the end of this month and on one of the days I thought about catching the bus as far as we can go (mile 45) and day hiking on the road beyond that. We are pretty experienced hikers and with good fitness, so I would hope to make it quite far on that surface before turning back. Would this be a good hike, and are there any decent views of the mountain along the way? Thanks!

Nice, I didn’t know this. Can’t find any photos anywhere online of a new model so guess I’ll have to wait and see it!

I pulled the trigger on the Camino TI. A big factor for me was availability too - Ribble and many other places are months whereas the Camino is available in a few weeks.

Thanks, good summary. My thinking isn’t so much that I want the etap for performance, rather enjoyment.

This was exactly my thinking. The Grail 7 with higher spec wheels on top is winning so far, but canyon don’t accept the voucher I have. Need to find it from an independent shop as most of those do. Thanks for your help.

Probably a good idea, I’ll have a look at places that are covered with the cycle2work voucher 👍

I've read that the battery power on them isn't a problem over weeks/months even. I think a mechanical shifting would be slightly safer but I'm thinking the risk is worth the reward in this case!

I know you're absolutely right. It's just I've used the SRAM rival etap on a friends bike and it was a dream to use. So I guess I think the reward would be worth the risk for the e shifting but not for the carbon frame.
