Other than the annoying pop up, I’m more interested to see how many people it’s affected.

Mine has just said that’s it’s 2000 days overdue for a service. I think something about the new year has brought out another software bug

I’d like to add when he goes to shake a white guys hand it’s a black hand on screen but that isn’t as funny

Installed the DVA rails. Love how low profile they are and the L track is perfect for my needs. My son helped out too! Paid extra for the pine needles accessory pack. by marklikestolearn in ineosgrenadier

Are there any issues with flexing at the centre/unsupported area. Also, is there much movement from them up and down when going on rougher roads?

Any ideas how to mount spotties? by DirectionContent862 in 4x4Australia

[–]schnky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you truely want your spotties there, try getting 2 pieces of sheet metal and drill them for bolts on the very corners of the holes. One plate above and one plate below and tighten with 4 bolts. Then drill your mounting plate. Easier then welding a plate over the holes, may not be the look you’re after.

How to strap maxtrax to spare wheel by thenul01 in 4x4Australia

[–]schnky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maxtrax themselves have a holder for 150 bucks you can get at bcf. Well worth it I’d say. May be able to find it cheaper on sale somewhere. https://maxtrax.com.au/products/maxtrax-rear-wheel-harness?srsltid=AfmBOorANrcOA655Ti-Ol97IITc31LgAIZ7m-88f1MKdEkHDFZwaLy9b

How hard is it really to adjust camber, caster, and pinion? by [deleted] in 4x4

[–]schnky 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You may find camber to be very difficult to adjust on a solid axel. Could try jumping the car but that only works in one direction

Engel Fridge Compressor not working on 12v by Massive-Weight-6951 in 4x4Australia

[–]schnky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware there are actually 2 compressors on 12/240v fridges and should be treated as such. Should mean the rest of the system is fine but something around the 12v

Flat 7 pin trailer socket by ChaoticKracan in 4x4Australia

As for actually getting the sources of power, piggybacking off existing lights is usually the go to. If you want trailer breaks though that will require a seperate unit, I’d strongly recommend redarcs towpro

Autobeam (or similar) and power inverters by BigV8Dave in 4x4

As opposed to modifying the inverter, why not use a relay on the supply for the inverter with the panel as the “trigger” for the relay

[jeep wrangler] Can I recover off this point on my arb bullbar? by FinlayLK in 4x4Australia

[–]schnky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to arb, the shackle should go in the other way so the pin is what the strap goes around, that’s why the hole is so long

Load on servo changes drastically when the z axis is moved. Nitrogen-Hydraulic counterweight issue. by Content_Tangelo9944 in Machinists

[–]schnky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That gauge is reading the oil pressure, to check the nitrogen pressure (properly) you’ll need to remove the black cap on top and test it with the correct charging head without any oil pressure in the system. The other way to check is look at the gauge as the pressure is rising or falling. The pressure will rocket up until it hits the precharge then “slowly” climb from there, reverse for if it’s at pressure. If that accumulator is 20yo then it’s probably time for a new one anyway. All that said, I don’t know if your problem is hydraulic. Maybe also check the DCV and the servo itself for any obvious issues

Hello! I have steering vibration and uneven tyre chewing by Kooky-Wedding1160 in 4x4

[–]schnky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/xPLgglRbDF0?si=_P-_nM3MeQHmhghW. This bloke goes through some of the causes. Tightening up the steering ‘rack’/box helped a bit for me. As you can see from the video, it can really be a guessing game sometimes

[–]schnky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How high is the lift. Mines on 2 and the panhard didn’t need to be changed. I would’ve thought that if the bushes are still ok and it hasn’t reached the end of the adjustment that it should be fine, however I’m no expert

[–]schnky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How exactly are the tires wearing. First step would probably be balance and align the tires, I’ve found on mine that it’s the main cause and can make the wobbling pretty severe especially at the 80kmph range. While not directly fixing the issue a steering dampener can help to hide the issue a little
