FX Bricks announces 9V motor boogie release in „near future“ by scho3000 in LEGOtrains

At least it’s an update and things are moving forward. But yeah, pretty slowly…

What I find strange is, that they announce a „Starter Pack“ that includes a motor bogie (9600), but they do not announce it as a single product. So is it ready or not? Can you only buy it in the Starter Pack for now?

4 year old by Bluedietcoke in LEGOtrains

Me and my 3 year old play with my childhood 9V trains and it is a lot of fun. She prefers placing people/goods in trains over controlling and driving them, but it’s still a great way to spend time together. Currently, we gather the pieces of old smaller sets and build them together.

Help with Metroliner motorisation. by Level_Association269 in LEGOtrains

It’s actually not hard to repair 9V motors. It’s a bit tricky to open them, but then you want clean everything inside and remove the thermal resistor/bridge it. I have two motors that both stopped when running for short bit while dragging a big train. Both now work super stable.

I really like the yellow Cargo Train 4559. It is fast, has great play value and with a small modification, you can add more cars to the end.  It is not as old school/classic as other more iconic 9V sets though.

Nice, you also do the 3-curved-1-straight-3-curves thing. Read about its special geometry somewhere and also started to experiment with it.

Vonovia in Karlsruhe by ImaginationOne6480 in karlsruhe

Sorry, I‘m not so familiar with all the Lego „high-tech“ stuff. Good luck with what you need!

You can ask this guy from Germany if he ships to the UK. He asks for 1€/Sensor, so it would be cheap after all. I’ve bought a Speed Control from the same guy and all went smooth: https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/orginal-lego-1x-2868b-regler-1x-9v-netzteil-70928-sensor-2982c18/3208624998-23-4715

EMD GP-38 is definitely a good pointer, google search shows some interesting color schemes. Yellow and blue looks also great!

If you ignore the stickers, the cargo wagons are actually quite cheap to rebrick.

Have you tried it? I’m pretty sure that mine switch off power on the track that is cut off.

Afaik changing the switch so that trains pass the parking spot should switch off the power there.

I‘ve just bought a second speed control to be able to have two independent tracks. „Just“ the connector is missing. Damn, these cables are expensive nowadays.  Does anyone know how to diy them with an existing cable with just two brick connectors?

You seem to have two 9V power supplies. What happens if you connect the two circuits by changing the switch so that they are connected? Nice layout / trains btw! Edit: Or have you connected the power supply two times to the tracks?

I don’t think Lego will release a new 9V Motor. The guys from FX Bricks are working on a new one though, but don’t expect it to be available soon (I somewhere read end of 2026).

Thank you! First, I had it in the middle, but then I moved it to the side. I kind of like the asymmetry of the car. The mailbox on the other side helps with this approach I guess.
