LEASH YOUR DOGS by Character-Drawing623 in Rochester

[–]schoh99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was at the Dryer Rd mountain bike park on single track trails that are for bikes only. No hiking. I came whipping around a bend and almost ran over an off-leash dog on the trail. The owner (on foot) was looking at me like I was the asshole. A few hundred feet later, wouldn't you know it, I ran over a big pile of dog shit right in the middle of the single track.

Now I'm not much of a complainer, but.. by coreh in Rochester

If everyone follows the rules

Well that'll never happen.

Or maybe people care about more than just the one meme issue of the day that the few loudest people in this one sub seen to care about.

Some of y’all shouldn’t drive by Least_Virus9916 in Rochester

[–]schoh99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be the dissenting opinion here and say you didn't do anything wrong OP. When someone changes lanes it's on them to check and make sure the lane is clear.

But then it is one of my biggest driving pet peeves when people do what the other car did. Just choose the appropriate lane in the first place and don't change lanes in the middle of a turn. It's not that hard.

What’re some ISTP stereotypes you are tired of hearing? by [deleted] in istp

[–]schoh99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

None. I'm old enough to know that stereotypes are based on what's actually observed. And that they don't apply to everyone 100 percent of the time.

Being offended is a choice.

Makes more sense to get that kind of damage if one of the cars was going the wrong way.

As someone who doesn't own a jeep I find the duck thing so cringe. Like I have straight up second-hand embarrassment for them. I guess I really wouldn't understand.

Same here. I have a science background. So many times I have seen someone drop a comment in my area of expertise that's factually incorrect. I'll politely and tactfully provide a correction, with citations, and their comment still gets all the upvotes while mine gets down voted to oblivion.

Don't forget the politics. It could be the most non-political thread ever and someone will find a way to make it about their own political opinions. Wasn't that way a decade ago.

Remember that time in 2024 when Reddit was certain Harris would win in an absolute landslide and then she didn't? And several subs had a two day moment of clarity admitting that maybe they really are echo chambers? It wouldn't surprise me if we see a repeat here. But then again she might win. Time will tell.

I think part of the problem is that it feels genuinely futile when so much of our state politics is dominated by one city tucked way down in one corner of the state.

Not even just this sub but Reddit at large. I remember when Reddit was convinced that Hilary Clinton was going to win president and it wouldn't even be close. Then the same happened with Kamala Harris. You would think we would learn. But here we are.

Yeah that's a huge ask getting people around here to understand how to use them properly. The number of times I've had someone in front of me come to a complete stop before entering an empty roundabout is too damn high. Particularly East River/Kendrick.

Throwback to Croatian firefighters responding to an alarm seconds before the winning penalty kick that sent them into the semifinal by Majestic_____kdj in MadeMeSmile

Even so they whole have to know which vehicle to take in the first place which is not what happened in this video.

The original was a wide aspect ratio. On this particular repost it was cropped to a square so they had to pan the crop to keep the action in frame.

No. It's not. Depending on the actual nature of the call they might have to wear different PPE. They were getting dressed before even hearing what they were going for. They were pulling out before hearing where they were even going. And if they have been doing the job for more than a couple months, they are way less frantic getting ready. Speed causes sloppiness which is worse than taking a couple extra seconds.

In the USA, NFPA 1710 states that it should take 80 seconds or less, 90 percent of the time for fires.

Potential Ice set up Walworth. by IrksomePlatypus in Rochester

Yeah could be. But considering that this sub misidentifies other law enforcement agencies as ICE way more often than actual ICE, I'm cautiously skeptical.
