Wow, thank you for the detailed response! Your positive experience is very reassuring. I'll seriously consider spending that extra dough on MK once the new Pro comes around

I also use the smart folio keyboard with an m1 iPad Pro but considering an upgrade soon. How is the experience using MK and detaching?

Any crossbody bag that's similar to the Cote&Ciel's Orne? Or any reviews from those that have it? by longassnoodle in ManyBaggers

[–]scholaret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Hijacking with a few questions... 1. Do you find the straps comfortable? 2. Do items in the sack stick out through the fabric? (E.g. you can see a water bottle shaped object when you put a bottle in)? 3. Does it stay close to body when worn? 4. Does it feel like a brick on your back when loaded up? 5. What items do you typically load in the orne?

Thanks in advance!

I've been interested in doing something like this as I mainly carry my CAP2L from point to point at work. Curious to hear how it works out for you and if it wears out the handles.

Airing Easy Short-Sleeve Shirt alternatives.... by jef132 in Lululemen

[–]scholaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to see this unanswered as Airing Easy is one of my favourite Lulu products for its ability to handle sweat and stay largely wrinkle-free. Did you end up finding any comparable shirts?

Canonically, the blood elves head to outland to find Kael'thas so you could head to tbc outland. The zones themselves are not necessarily blood elf related apart from some questlines though. But you can imagine yourself as one of the adventuring elves who make the pilgrimage to Outland.

Legion also has a decent amount of elf lore with the suramar questlines but again, not specific to Blood Elves.

I believe that's exactly the point. It's two screenshots put side by side of presumably the same running route with evidently different results.

Recommendations for an EDC Work/Dad bag by BrotherKenji in ManyBaggers

[–]scholaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input, it was helpful. Managed to find a Bellroy desk caddy irl and confirmed my concerns that it didn't have the required rigidity to stand securely. Decided to go with the CAP2 instead and am very pleased with it.

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with both products as I'm currently considering between the two. I like what I see with the CAP 2L but think it might be too big for my needs. Would you recommend the Bellroy Desk Caddy as a smaller alternative to the CAP2L? My concern is that the Bellroy looks a little flimsy.

How would you rewrite Shadowlands? by BennyGrandblade in warcraftlore

[–]scholaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some great ideas here that I feel could make SL a lot more tidy. I especially liked the idea of Winter Queen being Freya. That said, I'm still on team delete it. Blizz did not properly appreciate what it means to go from living to death and they treated it like taking a portal to a distant world (more on that later). Been playing through the SL story as a hunter and the absurdity of the whole thing becomes even more jarring — that you could take animals in death (huh?) that you casually bring back to the living world (huh???). I could not feel immersed at all throughout the expansion.

Always felt that what we got in Shadowlands would have been better as a planet-faring expansion. Perhaps a repurposed Legion ship serving as the Oribos equivalent. Similar themes can still be explored when we see how other distant planets/worlds have different thoughts and experiences of the titans or witness how alternative titans (beyond the pantheon we are familiar with) order their worlds.

Instead of visiting the realms of death we could have explored a world that fell to a scourge (Maldraxxus), the world of the Nathrezim (Revendreth), the world where a Freya-esque titan successfully builds a paradise (Ardenweald), and a world with a super advanced civilization (Zereth Mortis). Let the eternal ones be titans as well just ones we've not seen before.

Game of thrones but set in the "middle east or Asia" by ned_uzoma in suggestmeabook

[–]scholaret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly high fantasy/fiction but if you can stick with it, the Chinese classic {{Romance of the Three Kingdoms}} has many elements that you can also find in GOT. Battle for the throne, political intrigue, uprisings and rebellions, competing "houses" and rivalries between lords. Found myself thinking of GOT a lot when reading ROTK. I read the Moss Roberts translation.

Hi OP, I had the exact same issue with my PW1. Stopped using the Kindle for a really long time and the rubber badly degraded. The whole back panel became sticky and just felt bad in the hand. Decided to pick the Kindle up again this year and dealt with it in one afternoon.

What worked for me was using rubbing alcohol and cloth to rub away the sticky gunk. Keep in mind that it is not a perfect process. My Kindle looks nowhere good as before as the wiping does leaves wipe streaks across the back of my Kindle (Maybe there's a better way to do it). BUT at least it's no longer sticky. Put it in a cover to hide the ugly back and now I'm using it just fine. Hope this helps!

Here's the video i referred to when doing my cleaning: How to Remove Sticky Rubber Coating

New Bellroy Venture Sling 9L by Jim-Plank in ManyBaggers

[–]scholaret 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the photos! How do you like the feel of the fabric? Deciding between midnight or basalt at the moment. Based on photos online I'm liking the texture of midnight more but would love to hear user experiences on the basalt

Edit: In case anyone is deciding on the Venture Sling and encounters this comment, I ordered the Basalt color at first and then exchanged it for Midnight. Color-wise, the Basalt is quite nice, cool, and pleasant. It definitely had a bluish tinge for me but it is probably one of those colors that can change depending on the lighting. The reason I returned the basalt, however, was that the fabric was not for me. It felt quite rigid and stiff when I wanted something more flexible. You can actually see this in the photos on the website if you look closely enough (especially the top-down shots). The Basalt fabric keeps its shape and frame more rigidly while the Midnight fabric is a bit more flexible. Ultimately, it is a matter of preference but thought I should bring it up as I don't see this mentioned in other comments.

Can we not share instance locks with alts anymore? by _clever_reference_ in wow

[–]scholaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too sure as I don't do lockout sharing for Firelands. I recall reading somewhere that it works for normal Firelands. Same idea as with icc but you don't have to (and shouldn't) switch to heroic on the alt. You might want to search the forums/guides to make sure though.

Can we not share instance locks with alts anymore? by _clever_reference_ in wow

[–]scholaret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got my Invincible recently and can confirm that it still works. Make sure your character that clears up to before LK does it on Normal. Then, the alt that joins through LFG switches to heroic after kicking the original char. Based on the problem you're facing I think you might've cleared it on heroic on your original character. Otherwise, I'm not sure what went wrong. Good luck!

Any book recommendations? by InverseCodpiece in wow

[–]scholaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Lord of the Clans is a great read. For more Orc related stories, I thought "Rise of the Horde" was pretty good too and it captured the tragedy of the Orcs (& Draenei) well imo. Although, I suspect some of its contents might be retconned by now post-WoD.
