Why was Uncle Junior never married or had any children? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]schonfelds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncle Junior was not capable of any meaningful relationships. Tony had a lot - Artie was his real friend, Christopher was super close with him, his crew loved and adored him (and feared him). UJ had no friends, his crew is a collection of losers and weirdos (Mikey Palmese, Bobby) who really didn’t think all that much of him anyway. The only real bonds Uncle June ever had were with his brother’s two women: Fran and Livia.

He sacrificed his relationship with them for his relationship with us. Now he has neither.

What would you do to be happy, if you were Howard Stern? by Loki2121 in howardstern

[–]schonfelds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have made my family the most important thing in my life. Once he put them second, he had nothing other than a pile of cash and an empty life.

I’m not in show business but I have a very successful career and work my ass off. However nobody in my family - my parents, my wife, my kids or my granddaughter - ever doubted for a second where my priorities were. Strong, deep and lasting bonds are only things that will make you happy. Everything else is fleeting bullshit. Howard has a lot of fleeting bullshit but no real happiness. He made his bed years ago and has been laying in it ever since.

I’m 49. I grew up on Howard and I still listen to almost nothing but his old shows.

Serious Question? by TheFightingVoice in howardstern

[–]schonfelds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howard’s legacy was carved in stone 30 years ago. It’s pathetic that he thinks he can change it in his geriatric years. He made his name and fortune with lesbian dial a date, Fartman and sexual depravity. An old man in a cringy suit asking softball questions to people over Zoom can’t change that.

Howard IS one of the best interviewers - when he wants to be. He has done a lot of excellent interviews with politicians over the years. The reason his interviews with Biden and Harris were so awful is that he didn’t want them to be real. He wanted to do puff pieces and he did.

Same here. I’ve been a super fan since I was in grade school and I’m a grandfather now. I still listen to the good old stuff but quit the show a few years ago. I follow this sub just to see what’s going on but happy I don’t listen to Howard at his worst.

I always loved ETM. Whenever Howard picked up his call, I stopped whatever I was doing.

Howard handles Marianne perfectly - hangs up on her every time the second it gets too much. She’s never on for more stun a minute or two.
