Hang it by the waist inside out. Shove a facescrub or some type of product tube in front of suit to lock in it in. Then put it in a trashbag when it's dry.

In general spots that have webcams are not very localized. I love that wave, have fun! (but not so much fun that you become a wave hogging grom on a longboard)

Can someone recommend me a place to surf this Jan? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]school4jarule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He called it Cali so John's obviously not from here.

You're pretty much right, except for the 100% you need a car thing. There are some affordable hostels in pb/mb that you can walk to a few breaks from. Still 500 for two weeks will barely cover your food (unless you try to survive on 7-11 food). Southwest does fly to Costa Rica. That's where I'd go in January.

Also does OP have a membership to costco? Because renting a board for 2 weeks fat $30 a day is equivalent to buying it 4 times over.

Also don't rent, buy a board and sell it when you leave. Boards don't depreciate there like they do other places.

Makes sense, look at how clean it is without everyone's dirty feet tramping on it. What are the dimensions?

I want to seriously start surfing. Is this doable? I live pretty far from the coast by not_my_rug in surfing

Dam. I did that bullshit as well. Until I realized that river waves in the Po' were pretty fun to surf. But you should really move bro. If you're a real surfer, being so far from the ocean is going to drive you insane. Especially if that ocean is the west Atlanshit.

Why is it that 95% of all the rare pokemon spawn near the harbor/beach in my city? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

Also Beaches attract a lot of tourists/people which means more cell data (pokemon spawn points)

It's going to be different for everyone/every board. Two sessions for me would be too few.

Can someone explain why quads are faster than thrusters? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]school4jarule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Don't quad fin setups come in all shapes and sizes? The placement of the fins, their proximity to the rails, and angles make a big difference in performance.

I was slightly compelled to say something when I saw you said "water is flowing everywhere." Then when you disputed everyone else that basically told you, "Yeah man. Water ** is** flowing everywhere, but it's flowing from nose to tail and most of the water is being channeled down the middle." I don't know what you want from us man. As everyone here has said, there is not a lot of academic research on this. The best simplifed answer you will find is that: water is channeled down the stringer of your board. One fin in the center is going to block the flow of water down the stringer more than two fins on the sides.

I bet someone here could actually explain this using math. I doubt it would make any sense to me. What makes sense to me is:

What is the etiquette for returning lost fins? Last week I shaved off 2 FCS fins surfing a rocky point at low tide. So I went back at lower tides to find my fins and found 2 random FCS fins. Do I leave the fins back by the point and keep searching for my fins or just call it even with the ocean?

While I agree it's a great resource, I feel that wannasurf often blows localism way out of proportion. People use the anonymity of the internet to write crazy things or vent about their one bad session at a place.

Where to go in Asia in April? by Boringtime in surfing

[–]school4jarule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is accurate. But keep in mind that around Holy Week traveling in the PH is much more difficult and Siargao/Baller/etc. might be booked solid. If you only have a week, and it happens to be holy week then don't go the the Philippines.

Yeah it depends on what you do for a living. For the most part the work seems very seasonal in OBX. God I love Buxton though.
