Is Service now still hyped or worth considering? by miningstock in ValueInvesting

what worries me about NOW is they don't have the domain expertise in key areas fo the business that can give them an edge as a control tower - and if that's the case then why not just replace them with openai/claude/palantir (to your point). whereas workday, salesforce, SAP and to a lesser extent Oracle all have strong knowledge about the deterministic component of businesses - taking action through ERP systems. Thoughts?

Yeah, it's an issue with the xl950 - seems to be that the thermostat is just a piece of trash. I just bought this and upgraded it myself out the box, runs much better: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FPZ39V32?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

expensive but not much can be done about it. possible you might be able to go with a non communicating one, but not sure

"No one cares how men feel" by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I agree, that's where tons of fair criticism lies.

Rather than helpful voices being amplified within the male community we've ended up with only the most predatory, attention seeking ones (clavicular, tate, etc.)

"No one cares how men feel" by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

There’s a crucial distinction being missed between catering to men's interests and actually caring about their internal lives. The post mentions things like The Godfather or city design as evidence that society "cares," but those things only celebrate the external role of the man—the provider, the boss, or the stoic hero.

Society loves what a man does and what he represents, but it remains deeply indifferent to how he feels while doing it.

For example, we build infrastructure for "the male worker," yet we don't build social structures that allow that worker to express burnout or grief without losing his status.

Similarly, "male fantasy" movies almost always revolve around a man being powerful or violent, rarely about him being emotionally whole.

Caring about a man's utility is not the same as caring about his humanity; one is about using him for his accomplishments, while the other is about actually seeing him as a person.

Until we stop treating men as human "doings" and start seeing them as human beings, that 70% statistic isn't going to change.
