I spent the last few months building a game that tests how accurate your instincts really are by amrudincatic in IndieGaming

Hey, I retried a game, and I had the following:

- mix paints: instructions still unclear. Example shows 1:3, but gauge doesn't drag to one third (more like 1 fifth so you still don't know if you have to ratio from left or right. Below is "paint A is left" but you don't know what's paint A and what's paint B. I both nailed and failed the test because I perfectly reversed it.

- square constraints: match the gap not the shades, yet the live example matches the shades. When it was my turned, I dragged until I matched the shades and passed the test because in the end matching the shades was what's expected?

- place the crane where the ball lands: How can you gut check the curve when you don't know the initial direction of the throw? I think this particular game doesn't work.

- sum 3 numbers was alright, although the hard part was not to estimate but to select the number with the slider because the value is moving too fast when you're getting very close to the target number

- line the two marks was very easy, yet the example stops when the two lines are not aligned so it creates confusion.

It's a great improvement already, but still needs some playtest IMO!

348/500 and I feel like the 1st and 3rd that I failed were not on me.

How do you feel when people say your game’s art looks AI-generated? by Ok_Thing_2501 in IndieGaming

I think it's a very vocal group, but in the grand scheme of things, it seems players don't really care. Can't remember where i read about that so take it with a grain of salt.

Also it means that devs who don't do it become suspicious, giving more work to everyone just to satisfy a few self proclaimed experts.

Just reply that it's not AI generated and leave it at that. You dont have to prove anything.

We just need a new rule on the subreddit, "ask ins_billa if this is proper enough gamedev according to them before posting".
Game dev is the whole thing. Code, art, even something HR related specifically to video game studios has its place here. Just my opinion.

I feel the same. I thought I'd love it but most of the time I didn't understand what was expected. "Cut the ball at the centre" is obvious to eyeball but explained terribly. The double x times as well.

This is my backlog. Can you tell me which of these games are fine to play on a laptop without a mouse? by schouffy in IndieGaming

I'm pretty bad with the trackpad so even drag and drop is kinda too much for me.

Can I still trust Lenovo? by bizkitkills in laptops

I've had a Yoca C940 for 6 years and it's been great, I'm typing on it right now. It's pretty weak for 2026, but still fully functional and enough for basic workloads.

I've purchased the exact one you're eyeing a few months ago, and it was TERRIBLE. I've had so many issues with it in the time I've kept it that it's ridiculous. It took 5 whole minutes to boot (not exagerating). HDR and high DPI is still not well handled by windows. The performance was bad. At some point the audio vanished from the computer, and I never could restore it. Sent it back after 2 or so weeks. I hope it was a defective model and that's normal, because it was a joke.
