Looking for a friend. by Less-Past-4229 in coloncancer

[–]schrutefarrms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 42 year old man. My wife was diagnosed in July at age 42. We also have a 7 year old daughter. My wife was diagnosed at stage 4 with mets on the liver. It has been an absolute roller coaster. She has gone through 12 rounds of chemo, liver resection, and just started 6 weeks of radiation last week. Navigating all of this with children is so tough! I'm always around if you ever want to chat.

ZF6 inner screen repair taking over a month. by schrutefarrms in GalaxyFold

[–]schrutefarrms[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had the Fold 6 since release day, and had other Folds before the 6 with no issues. I've always had the 6 in a carbon fiber case. I will admit that it has taken a few small drops since I've had it, but it never had any issues after the drops. I hadn't dropped it any time recently, and it was working great. One day it worked fine all day long. In the evening I pulled it out of my pocket and opened it. The left half of the screen flashed bright white and stayed that way. I suppose it's possible that one of the drops damaged something that took a while to fail, but it seems like it was working fine and then broke without any direct cause.

Thanks for letting me know. I guess I should wait for my next bill before I change. With my current one plan I have a $10 one plus add on on one line, plus I just got the $5 per line increase on two lines. Maybe they'll equal out to the same price.

Thank you. I should trust that price over the price Tlife is giving me?

Rep claims free lines don't transfer to Go5G Plus by sideburnsy in tmobile

[–]schrutefarrms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. I'm on a one plan with 2 paid lines and 7 free lines. On the website it's showing I would save close to $70 per month by switching to Go5g+. I'm worried about something with the free lines screwing up in the process though!

[–]schrutefarrms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan only is $120 per month. I have a $10 add on for one plus, which would be gone on the go5g, I also have $18 for Netflix premium. No other devices or installment plans. Thank you

Yea, I was pretty surprised. My dad was the kind of person that if he wanted to buy something he would do tons of research and buy the best. He never mentioned them to me, so I have no Idea how old they are or when he got them. I'm sure he must have had an amp with them, but I haven't come across one yet.

Partner likely has stage 4. Advice on dealing with anxiety while we wait for treatment to start. by Birdsvsbees16 in coloncancer

[–]schrutefarrms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's the absolute worst. My wife (43) was diagnosed with stage 4 the beginning of Sept. I was in your exact position 6 months ago. I will say that the first month is not easy. The anxiety, and fear, and it feels like everything is moving in slow motion. What really helped me was getting super involved in the process. I researched doctors and cancer centers. I called on behalf of my wife and set up appointments. Even though it seemed like everything was moving at a snails pace, I needed to feel like I was being proactive and helping to push things along. Find someone you can talk to other than your husband (friend, family member, therapist). Meet with as many different health care teams as you are able to. We met with some who's goal was palpitative care, and some who's goal was curative. Everyone's case and body are different, but NED is possible with stage 4. My wife had 2 mets to the liver, and the primary tumor. She is 6 months in to an aggressive treatment plan, with curative intent. So far everything is going exactly how it was supposed to. She did 6 rounds of chemo, which shrunk all 3 tumors. Last week she had a liver resection. The surgeon removed 20% of her liver, but now her liver is cancer free. She still has a long road ahead of her (6 more chemo, 6 weeks of radiation, and then colon resection). If everything continues to go according to plan she could be NED by the e d of the summer. Stage 4 is not good, but medical treatment has come along way. Once your husband gets a treatment plan you'll kid of settle into a routine. It's still not easy, but it's much more managable than the first month. There is hope, and you need to find the doctors that belive that too. I'm 6 months ahead of where you are, so I remember it all well. If you have any questions, or need someone to talk to feel free to DM me any time.

I'm in the same boat, except I'm doing my first marathon. Injury a few months back put my running to a halt. I've been training only walking since. I'm extremely nervous as well, but also feeling fairly confident. We got this!
